Just heard MASSIVE NEWS that Chelsea’s new head coach will have greater say in recruitment, and everything football-related.
And the new head coach is expected to be hired before going after the player targets he and the club agree on.

First option? Xabi Alonso or Felipe Luis. Their Styles of play easier to implement vis a vis our squad profile. Minimal surgical Squad strengthening required to compete. Individually, Xabi's mental work that he did with Leverkusen with the unbeaten run with all odds against a heavily financed and ragingly dominant Bayern Munich says a lot about his capabilities.
With Felipe, it is the relationism style of play that would bring the best out of almost any player. Entertaining too but compact. I get any of these two and I will be comfortable.
The second option would be Cess. Exciting and upcoming. But again a complete reset to style of play. You will need an almost complete overhaul of the team to fit his style. That takes years to implement. Years we have already wasted since Blue Co takeover.
Iraola ? To me is his mentality that scares me the most. Then his aggressive style of play vs the weaklings we have and the propensity of our players to get injured. Expecting his style to work with what we have is a disaster waiting to happen. His mentality?. Knows nothing about winning. But he fits the Blue Co nonsensical head coach profile well since he can develop the right players.

People tend to believe that we have an entirely useless squad, which is not true. We have suffered majorly because of indecisiveness and, at times, outright poor decisions.
Maresca winning the Club World Cup is proof of the squad’s ability. But his sacking is also proof of the poor decision-making around this club.
Now we have a chance to make it right.
I have done a comprehensive player-by-player analysis on how this squad fits the next managerial appointment and to be posted in a sequel.
For this analysis, the assumption is that Alonso will be the appointment.
I genuinely believe we are 95% ready-made for Alonso — but only if he goes with the identical back three structure he used at Leverkusen.
He cannot ignore how half-baked most of our players still are.
Anything away from the back three demands serious investment across ALL departments of the squad. A luxury we may not have with the new financial rules.

0–40 -High-risk
Gusto— poor attacking output and attacking indecisiveness. Could sit out much or be replaced if no improvements.
Tosin- Anybody can play in this system including uncle. But he could struggle with wide area coverage when wingbacks fly.
41–55- Should survive depending on adaptation and tactical development
Sanchez— Shot-stopping gives him a chance despite limitations in buildup phases. A ball playing keeper is not one of Alonso's obsessions.
Cucurella — Defensively aggressive and useful, but attacking delivery and back-post timing must improve.
Chalobah / Fofana / Sarr— All possess traits suited for a rotational back-three environment. Must just cut out individual mistakes to survive.
55–80 -Strong compatibility
Reece — Natural guaranteed starter. But the wingback role is too demanding under Alonso. The injury will be his mate.
Colwill — Elite line-breaking passing. Be used as the Central ball playing CB alongside two stoppers/careers.
