That was a striker's play from Delap. The first time ever since he joined Chelsea

To be frank, we have been better. Even if we had lost it.

Not better than them, but our overall game play

We've been playing false 3-4-3 today something almost close to what Rosenior uses at Strasbourg.

To be frank I have seen lots of promises despite the fact that McFarlane is not him.

The greatest positive was doing away with the plenty of stupid pass after pass after pass I used to find issues with. There was urgency in passing and movements. Lots of attacking angles and directness. Lots of aggression and devotion in tackling.

Above all positive transitions from defence to attack.

Arsenal have suffered for 20 years and it's the thoughts of us becoming them that makes us shudder.

Hope it works out fine.

Liam Delap’s performance changed the game for us...that's the kind of link-up play we want to see from him often.

Manchester City have drawn back-to-back Premier League games for the first time this season. 🀝

FT: Man City 1-1 Chelsea

Enzo Fernandez equalises in the fourth minute of stoppage time for the Blues. 🀯

Enzo gives his all in every game, works in midfield, creates and scores.

He deserves more respect.

There are no positives. Delap did 3 good things. He'll be back to being a bum next week. The whole direction of the club is down, 1 point stolen from City after a terrible performance doesn't change anything, it's a distraction.

Egbahli and co is killing our club and we need to stay negative until they change their ways.

To be frank, some of us were delusional of the world cup/ Barca performances and hoped things would get better even way before that.

But secretly frustrated with the mechanical, robot like style of play.

We can just hope Rosenior would offer better style.

Liam Rosenior has the best points per game ratio in Ligue 1 of any Strasbourg manager in the last 85 years (1.59).

He led them to European qualification for the first time in 19 years in his first season. πŸ‘

Welcome to Chelsea

‼️ Rosenior has forged a reputation for building teams that are expressive in possession and attack-minded.

Strasbourg have played the fewest long passes in Europe’s top five leagues this season as he likes his teams to build from the back.

Rosenior: What I am look forward to

βœ“Tactical versatility
We used to change tactical approaches to opponents. Not tactical formation. We were so easy to read and contain. I see him doing a different set of tactics. Hope he embraces this.

βœ“ Varied pacing

How he alternates pace from defensive/holding phase to attack is brilliant. The way he sets up his wingers/wingbacks to start behind opponents lines (our half) would give our pacey attackers room to maneuver and flourish rather than hugging touch lines

βœ“ Freedom to technically express

Rather than just passing and hoping to pass opponents to boredom( most unlikely) I see him encouraging players in central areas to express themselves through the technical skills, ball carrying and combination plays. Those who have been here for long know the lack of this was always my biggest frustration with Maresca.

- Lots of movements to break down lines rather than just passing and recycling

From defence to attack, players are positioned to aid quick transition and team support through movement and constant position and formation changing.

Against an aggressively pressing opponent, it will be a miracle. The biggest question however will be how to bait low block teams that don't press wildly. This will be the biggest Rosenior challenge and one I really want to see if he can be able to crack.

Likely Challenges?

-Different tactics. Change when it's not working. But also mess them when it's working.
The challenge with this may be overthinking some matches

-If he is able to manage the egos, and sell them his ideas, he has the tactical potential to succeed.

🀞 We can only hope
