So losing here wouldn’t be a disgrace — but getting a result would be massive. Still everything to play for.

Olise is such a good player man. immediately you see a good player you notice. Great player

This game is crying for a ball carrier like Estevao. Lots of spaces for take-on's .

◇What a fascinating tactical chess match between Maresca and Kompany, both sides are mirroring each other’s approach. Chelsea trying to overload the right with Palmer & Gusto, while Bayern are doing the same with Olise & Laimer.

◇It’s been such a tight and unlucky half for us… the free-kick retake really killed us, otherwise we’d be level by now.

◇ Biggest takeaway? Experience. They’ve got it, we don’t. At times we looked shaky in possession, almost nervous. Palmer & Cucurella with Neto? Zero chemistry .We could've punished them but transitions just weren’t clicking at all.

Robert Sanchez with two big saves in the space of a few minutes. The first to deny Harry Kane at his near post. The second a firm wrist to keep out Michael Olise effort, which the Bayern attacker should have buried.🧤

We are getting cooked off the ball... our initial pressing has been terrible... Bayern are easily beating it. Very shocking considering i can't remember this happening under Maresca.

I don’t even see the reason for Enzo in these type of games. he’s just too poor man. there no agenda anywhere

If we can actually help Caicedo and get a competent partner for him we won’t be seeing James in midfield. its simple as that, Enzo is playing because of his price tag

•Same old story… individual mistakes killing us again. Been happening since Poch’s time, when the whole revamp left us with no experience, no leadership, no chemistry. Cost us early last season in PL, cost us again tonight.

•Yes, under Maresca there’s growth, you can see the identity building but this was our first proper test at the top level and the nerves showed. Bayern are used to this stage, we aren’t. They looked calm, we looked shaky.

•That second half was painful to watch. Pressing all over the place with zero co-ordination. And then the errors switching off on the free-kick retake, a silly penalty, sloppy giveaways under pressure...you just can’t do that at this level.

•Hope the boys have seen the glimpse of how cruel this competition can be.Still early days. Benfica at home? No excuses. Must. Win.
