Within our fanbase, there are always different groups. Some never rate certain players — Enzo gets constant criticism, Chalobah rarely gets respect.

Others think Fofana is our best centre-back in 2025. Some don’t give new players like Gittens or Garnacho any time, dragging them straight away. Even if they make mistakes, can’t we just discuss it, move on, and shield them a little? Then there are the Lavia fanboys too.

The bigger issue is we often treat our own players the way rival fans would, but still expect respect from outsiders. At the same time, we overpraise players from other clubs while undervaluing ours. The reality is, no one will hype Chelsea players more than Chelsea fans. If we want them to get recognition, it has to start with us.
