An agreement was not reached between Bayern Munich and Juventus for #Chelsea target Matthijs de Ligt in the meeting today. They are still quite far apart in their valuation. Talks will continue.

Nathan Ake- The new Lukaku ?
Certainly the recent hottest topic Pumping up bile amongst the chelsea fan base is the rumored impending acquisation of Nathan Ake from manchester city. A man who played only 3 games last season but formerly a star player at both Bournmouth and Chelsea developmental team.
Going forward, there is no doubt aerial threats Ake offers in setplays and the nick to head in goals from congested spaces. What however divides opinion is his defensive abilities.
Just like Lukaku that left and came back and flopped as it was expected, there is a growing fear that Ake is not cut from the same cloth as some of the EPL top centre backs. Its this fear thats sending us to the fireside today.
I must be open and state how disgusted I was with the Ake rumour at first, but doing a deep play analysis of Ake, Am more less Worried with the Type of player we may end up getting.
Whats diacourages people about Ake the most is how he runs like two bricks have been tied on his thies. A slow player.
Emotions aside However, to compensate for his pace, Ake has a smart brain that processes anticipation and positioning in the same ilk as his compatriot Van Dijik. Ake brilliance in marking even pacey strikers is comparable to only few top defenders.
How he plays spaces between him and opposing attackers to compensate for lack of pace is so way top class. Just like Van Dijk, Ake is not a player that all opponents can turn inside out and score against at will. Ake is a top brain.
In his 170 Epl appearance its worth noting that Ake has had 0 errors leading to a goal. He has also been dribbled past only 0.1. His versatility to play in both back four or Back three and Also left back position is also a plus, without also mentioning his abilities to hold and play under pressure and breaking presses.
But for Ake to be a top perfomer, its no doubt that he will need a fast and hardworking centreback besides him. This is the only way the man will not flop.
He is not a favourite cup coffee, but if shit hits the fan and the Man ends up at chelsea again, The fans can be assured that with a good patnership, Ake will certainly deliver.
