Club World Cup Opener – Key Takeaways

• Pedro Neto and Cole Palmer’s chemistry on the right wing stood out — a sharp contrast to earlier criticisms that seemed more biased than objective from a fellow admin. Pedro Neto's relentless work rate is a major reason as to why Maresca prefers him over Madueke in that RW role, especially with Reece James needing consistent support behind him.

• One tactical concern: Maresca must stop using Gusto or James as inverted full-backs. It’s clear that Cucurella is best suited for that role, it allows Palmer to have space on the right hand side, where again he looked more dangerous.

• Lastly, nobody talked about Liam Delaps off the ball movement before he was signed but oh my !...It went under the radar. His intelligent runs and the technique behind his assist showed real promise.

• Shoutout to Tosin , bossed the backline and Sanchez with a good save to keep us in the game 👏

🇺🇸🔵 Pedro Neto vs LAFC:

90 minutes played

80 touches
92% pass accuracy
4 key passes
3/7 crosses completed
1 shot on target
5/7 dribbles completed
8/10 ground duels won
1 clearance
1 tackle

MOTM performance 👏

Wow Maresca

Just under 24 hours to go! ⏳

Enzo Fernandez on Liam Delap:

“I see how good Delap is, and I hope he can assist me many more times and I can assist him too…”

Who did you root for the most? 👀

Why are we even going for João Pedro? We have not shipped out both Nkunku and Felix yet plus we have 3 strikers at the moment.

What is actually going on in this club? What does this signing add to the team?

Morgan Rogers would've been the perfect signing to replace Nkunku and Felix.

5 non-pen goals last season 🕊

Let's hope Brighton are using us to drive up the price and he’ll end up at Newcastle.

#Terrible

Feeling so bad for Mudryk men.

It was just a matter of time. He was destined for great things.

Hope it turns in his favour with time😔
