I think we should be motivated by City and Palace performances tonight.
They have shown that it's possible to fight and fight and fight in a span of three days and do it competitively
Just right mentality

Kepa has been there the whole of the season. Heβs done very well for them this season. Not once have you given him plaudits. But someone scores a top top goal and here you are blaming Kepa for a goal that isnt his fault. SMH

Iβve been very consistent on Enzo Fernandez.
I love him as a player & think heβs a special talent. Iβve backed him through the highs/lows. Ironically many now riding so hard for him wanted him out 6/7 months ago.
Heβs a special-profile & super rare in the modern-game. Iβve compared him to Kroos many times (his ability to play killer-passes/long-balls from deep AND control-tempo simultaneously is special).
Sadly though we just havenβt utilised him correctly for the most part. To get the best out him he needs to be the hub of the midfield with 100+ touches per game. The game has to run through him.
If there were assurances he would be used deeper next season & we are ready to facilitate him fully; then Iβm all aboard & heβs the heart of the project.
But if we are to persist with this βbox-crashingβ role, heβs not a bonafide starter or the Β£100M player we paid for.
Heβs a top player & pro, so heβs made the most of it & made himself super-useful with the G/A etc, but anyone with a keen-eye can still see itβs an awkward fit often.
Props to him for some of the creative numbers, but honestly in a good positional-play system; itβs almost impossible for him not to do so over 38 games no matter where you put him. Heβs just that good.
But this is why the eye test & knowing the player is important. This isnβt close to his best. His creative-potential + influence on games should be way beyond what weβve seen. This is someone capable of comfortably topping most creative passing metrics in Europe let alone the league. A passing/creative phenomenon.
He was rightfully in Bellingham/Pedri conversations when we signed him. Now that feels like a far-cry. Sad to watch.
If we donβt plan to go all-in on him next season & really platform him; itβs probably best for him to leave in truth. Alonso will use him properly & help him reach his true-potential.
Equally, we can find more dynamic/better fits for the physical demands of the B2B/#8 role. If thatβs all we sadly view him asβ¦
