Can someone tell me 2 reasons what Poch has done in his career to stay at Chelsea next season?

Aubameyang explains difficult season at Chelsea: โ€œI understood from December, that the season was over, I already wanted to leave, but you canโ€™t play for more than three clubs.

I asked myself: is this what it means to be old? And I answered: Itโ€™s you who decides. Either you decide to follow this path and say to yourself maybe itโ€™s old age. Or you say, no, thatโ€™s bullsh*t, I still have things to do. I was disappointed and jaded, I got a littleโ€ฆ โ€˜lost,โ€™ thatโ€™s a big word, but I let myself go.โ€

The make-up of a team is not necessarily putting all your best players together but putting players with the right characteristics together to make-up a solid team.

I don't understand how people think Maatsen will do well for this Chelsea in the Premier League. I actually think we need a defensive left-back because of the attacking style of our RBs and the low space coverage of the CMs.

Maatsen clearly isn't better than Reece or Gusto, so the defensive tilt should go to the left to keep a better balance. If we have defensive minded DMs that can cover spaces well and win duels, we can allow RB and LB to be adventurous but we don't have that.

If you look at Maatsen's duels stats in Bundesliga, you will understand why he's not yet built to play as a defensive LB in the Premier League, especially in this Chelsea team. A team like Everton or Brentford can use him and cover his limitations but we can't.

That a player is doing well elsewhere doesn't mean he will do well for you. That's not how it works. The only way we can actually use Maatsen properly is if we are playing with a 3 centre-back system.

Have you seen how big Dortmund players are? I think only Maatsen, Sancho and Adeyemi are less than 6 feet tall.

The CBs, defensive midfielders and Brandt as CAM are big fellas. That's why they don't bother about Maatsen's height limitations. He's well covered.

Maatsen in Bundesliga;
Aerial duels won: 20%
Total duels won: 47%

Cucurella in PL;
Aerial duels won: 65%
Total duels won: 59%

If you don't get it now, you will never get it. Cucurella is small but very aggressive which makes up for it. Maatsen is small and not aggressive.

Exactly. Itโ€™s just common sense to know why Poch uses Colwill there instead. He wants someone defensive minded so during counter attacks we would have coverage. It doesnโ€™t mean he's not good enough, heโ€™s not just fit for the team. We have seen players like Sancho perform better in Dortmund too, not that he wasnโ€™t good at United, heโ€™s just not a good fit for them. Thatโ€™s why players are profiled in the first place.
๐Ÿ‘70โค7๐Ÿคก6
I mean Poch even tried to use him as an attacker to make use of his qualities but it doesnโ€™t make sense considering the amount of money we have spent on attackers for this guy to be playing him ahead of Palmer and Sterling. We just dont need him, letโ€™s wake up from the delusion of retaining all our talented players. Some very good players will go for the bag. Some might even become better, great players but what matters is the vision and standard of the club. City gave us Palmer but it hasnโ€™t really had a major impact on their season. They still play wonderful football so whatโ€™s the point actually? Sometimes we talk like we havenโ€™t seen greater players play for this club. Even those ones had to go at some point .
โค84๐Ÿ‘18
Lastly, i dont know why our fan base is so double minded. We were in this same group when Maatsen was given a chance. We watched him contribute nothing. Now because he is performing at another club we will decieve ourselves that he is better than Chillwell and Cucu. Like guys come on. Are you being fr? He hasnโ€™t even performed consistently for like season or two. What has he done in Dortmund compared to what we have seen Chilwell do for us. Because of some bare clips people are folding. I can pile up 10x better clips of Cucuโ€™s aggressive defending and Chilwellโ€™s attacking prowess. To me its even weird comparing them both. Let him reach that level in two seasons then okay. Come and talk to me.
And even if you think he is better thwn both of them, would he be good in the system we play??? I think we already know the answer to that because we have seen for ourselves. So then again WHAT IS THE POINT?
๐Ÿ‘65๐Ÿ”ฅ8โค5๐Ÿ’ฉ2
He didnt play him at his appropriate position because he would be the most stupid coach on earth. Caicedo was having stinkers and you want to play two attcking minded full backs when Lavia is injured. We would swallow so many goals. Our midfield was not clicking and you want him to then kill the entire defensive structure. Letโ€™s be reasonable. Sometimes we all have to make tough decisons that might not be suitable for everyone. Itโ€™s so clear why Poch made that decision. He didnโ€™t want to risk it and anytime he tried it, more people had to cover and it limits attack. So then again WHAT IS THE POINT? I NEVER SAID HE DIDNT CONTRIBUTE ANYTHING AT LB but as much as Poch tried to fit him somewhere it just didnโ€™t look good. So why keep a liability when you can get some cool cash?
๐Ÿ‘48๐Ÿ‘5โค4๐Ÿ‘Ž4๐Ÿ’ฉ2
The fact that Poch doesnโ€™t even play chilwell at LB shows that is not the kinnd of LB he wants. I would rather not compare both of them, but you cant just get rid of your vice captain just like that. Letโ€™s get Poch the profile of players he needs so Colwill can play as a CB so we can push foward from there. All this back and forth isnโ€™t neccessary because his profile wouldnโ€™t have been considered in the coachโ€™s sytem or would you rather bench Reece and Gusto for him?
๐Ÿ‘35๐Ÿ”ฅ5๐Ÿคก4
You can say what you think but if we had made good use of most of our chances this season to kill games no one would question this guyโ€™s so called โ€œTACTICSโ€œ. The players are talented this and that and the coach should help them carry the ball into the net but no one gives this guy credit for the chances we have been creating. I only have a problem with his reaction to problems but i can understand a little because he is trying to instill trust in the players he has. Iโ€™m not backing anyone. I dont even follow coaches but i talk based on what i see. And what i see is that we are trying find any means to crucify a man that volunteered to be a scapegoat for this funny project.

X-That defence๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜... And that defensive bench... No one should really blame him in case we get a beating today

โˆš-And that attack๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘

โˆš-He should play this attack as it is in all the remaining matches

That's the only way they will learn and gel

This is some exceptional football we're playing, and it's not even particularly fancy. This is what we've been crying out for the whole season.

Basic 3-2-5 possession structure, wingers isolated 1v1 and midfield rotations. Inverted FBs give our players most options on-ball too.
