Carney: “The new manager has been great with us. I won't lie, his pre-season training so far has been very hard! Very demanding, very intense but it's what we need and we are enjoying the work.”

I'm really excited to work under him. He's got a good track record of improving teams, improving young players and I hope he can replicate that with me, for sure.” [chelseafc]

I am worried about is my club's public image.

Over the past year, we've given the impression we don't know what we're doing and our reputation has taken a hit. Needs to be addressed immediately.

Chaos is normal in football, especially at Chelsea. However, even by our standards, this is not good or acceptable.

Image is everything and our image right now is bad. We're seen as a club with no direction, and a lot of moves we make reinforces that outlook.

I hope the club realizes the importance of projecting the right image.

Rivals trying to nick our best talents (Liverpool and Colwill, Newcastle and Hall) is bad. It shouldn't happen.

A club like Brighton pulling down our pants in press conferences is humiliating. Shouldn't happen.

And almost all of it comes down to one thing - a lack of respect for the club from competitors.

The only way to fix this is by avoiding public PR battles and by winning on the pitch.
