Chelsea have also contacted Mauricio Pochettino in the last few days. Itโ€™s the first direct approach after last summer when he was in the list. ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ”ต #CFC

Nothing advanced yet, Nagelsmann remains favourite.

Talks will continue, as Chelsea want to be 100% sure of their choice.

๐Ÿšจ โ€œIโ€™m not aware of stories of Chelsea being forced to sell players due to FFP, Chelsea are 100% confident of the project, they will need to offload players but it was a part of the original ideaโ€

Agbonlahor: "Iโ€™ve got the list hereโ€ฆ Loftus-Cheek for me Iโ€™d get rid of. Mount, wouldnโ€™t give him a new contract, Gallagher Iโ€™d get rid of. Aubameyang is an easy one to get rid of. Pulisic, Iโ€™d say bye bye. Koulibaly is touch and go. Azpi Iโ€™d let go and Ziyech Iโ€™d also let go."

I'm not opposed to either but anyone who tells you Nagelsmann and Poch aren't on the same level is stupid.

> Took a relegation threatened club to new heights
> Made their next club a top 4 staple and took them to historic CL finishes
> Moved to a big-ego club and couldn't cope

Nagelsmann is a master tactician with poor people skills (don't fall for PR) - mostly short-term, not much long-term.

Poch is more "basic" tactically, more of a balancer, but understands people and profiles seriously well.

All about what you want.

At the end of the day, player quality and balance is everything, so unless we get a balanced team a manager won't change much.

I am somewhat shocked by the coverage around Nagelsmann though, especially on twitter. Ready to bet 80% of these accounts have never researched him.

Nagelsmann is a "chameleon" coach - adapts to opponents on the fly, doesn't have a set identity of his own. Short-term success but has long-term questions.

Poch is a basic "balancer" - has a set idea, gets a balanced team to fit that idea, identity remains. Not sophisticated.

If you don't want to read so much, on a very simple level, ask yourself who you want:

Carlo Ancelotti or Thomas Tuchel?

The answer to this question will help you choose between Nagelsmann and Poch too.

(NOT an apples-for-apples comparison, FYI)

Personally, I'm okay with both because both are top managers.

Nagelsmann - needs to improve his people skills, not sure how quickly it happen. Needs a set identity also.

Poch - tactical basicness is an issue, we have to accept it.

Both are big risks.

Anyone who picks a side and tries to undermine the other isn't worth taking seriously.

I like both managers, have my doubts about both. Perhaps slightly more about Nagelsmann since his management/communication is so weak.

If more managers come up, we've got to look at them too.

Reports from Portugal suggesting Chelsea are set to sign Diego Moreira, a highly coveted talent from Benfica after his contract expires in the summer.

Saw him play in the UEFA Youth League a while back. Winger adept on either flank, has clever footwork & excellent dribbling.

Kendry Pรกez & Ecuador needed to beat Venezuela, to win the U17 Conmebol.

Pรกez scored the opener, as captain, but Venezuela equalised at 76โ€™. Pรกez scored a 91st minute winner, but it was disallowed & Brazil won. ๐Ÿ˜ซ

What a tournament for Kendry. ๐Ÿ’ซ

With Pochettino, Chelsea have gone for more stability and clarity first. We have been all-over the place and don't need any more complications.

I understand that bcos at this point, we have no margins for errors and Pochettino is a sure bet at getting the best out of the squad.
Pochettino is clear about what he wants. His football is not based on any philosophy but principles.

Once he identifies his group of players, he goes to work, which based on his previous clubs yields results in few weeks rather in few months or years.

Also, he's very good at player profiling and setting a structure that will get the best out of his players. However, since his football is based on intensity of runs and press, his squad needs refreshing to maintain freshness and hunger in the squad.

His man-management skill is something I'm worried about. He's not a man that insists on his way, he said he used to be like that but later felt he should be open to negotiate with players. He's more like Wenger than Sir Alex in that sense but in big teams, you need Sir Alex type. But like they say, "let's get to the bridge first and then figure out how to cross it."

He will definitely make a good manager for Chelsea at this stage, but how long he will last and how much he will win, time will tell.
