Unfairly scapegoated by our toxic fanbase whenever he concedes a goal. If not for him, we'd have held at least 6 on Saturday.

Unlocking Mudryk
Anybody who has watched Mudryk in the last two games would admit that the guy is making the right steps in finding his feet. The mans psychological well being being battered by the thoughts of own parents living in an active war zone. Physically the man faced weeks out without serious competitive football, for a man who relies on pace, his physicality was bound to suffer.
With how defensively we played last time against Madrid, the key to creating chances if he can click its him. The ability to to carry on balls from deep with speed would give Chelsea the immediate transition desired. This would also restrict a number of their players ability to join attacks because of the threat he would give during breaks. His speed in one twos around the box as we have seen a number of times this season would give the Madrid defensive shapes lots of trouble. He did give them a run last season with inferior team mates, If he can find his head, the threat from Mudryk is unimaginable.
But to be effective, Lampard should harness his explosiveness by giving him freedom to come deep in midfield rather than staying wide in the wings where he can be easily be marked. By coming deep, this allows him to to push the spaces in front of him using his pace and also have room for maneuver. Its how he was effective at Shakhtar. Ancelloti has also be doing this effectively with Rodrygo.
Improvement needs game time and therefore he needs to play all our remaining matches adequately.
If Mudryk can find his feet, I must repeat that he would be as effective as Haaland has been for city and dependable as Mbappe is for PSG. Anybody thinking this kid is a flop should hold his horses.
