This just sums up our mentality of the whole season...
๐Ÿ‘42โค4
The lack of senior players, leaders, experience in the squad was always concerning, but what is significantly more jarring is that almost none of the senior guys remaining in the squad are worth their salt. You expect those ones to be the first names in the XI, to lead by example

and set uncompromising standards. Unfortunately the bar for our younger players is set too low. Don't think any Chelsea fan would mind benching Kovacic, Sterling, Kepa, Koulibaly for Mudryk, Madueke, Slonina, Datro Fofana etc.
Let those be the positives from a wretched season.

Bizarre

Yesterday, no matter how bad you detest Franks tactical abilities like me, there is just no way you can pin the loss on him. What happened yesterday was break of day and night between the qualities in squads both individually and team wise. While Madridโ€™s team was well oiled machine serviced with an experienced gaffer, ours was just different.

Had Lampard not employed the tactics as he did, weโ€™d have been smashed, whipped and abused like the shitty team we are.

That was a lesson on how a team works. Pressing the right time, right shape and right places, being attacked until you wish for the toilet and being harassed such that you wet the bed while trying to attack. Thatโ€™s how we are supposed to play.

How did the beast suddenly look like a squirrel? How did those guys turn Ngolo into Bakayoko? Letโ€™s give that Italian old man credit he deserves. Even Pep would have been hammered had he tried that his 3-2-4-1 thereโ€ฆ and Rudiger was the bench warmer.

Had it not been for the second goal Iโ€™d say we are still inโ€ฆ. but manโ€ฆ. Miracles? โ€ฆ I think we are seriously mentally and spiritually incapacitated for one. While we can defend, you just canโ€™t see anyone in the offensive department who can take the game by scruff on his own. Sterling dribbles like the old man he is, Havertz attacks like two brick have been tied on his hips and Mudryk is taking ages to find his feetโ€ฆ That Joao boy has the aura of a superstar but output of an amateur. Itโ€™s Just so hard to rate him.

Positives?

Maybe next season we will be become the first team in history to win all of UCL, Europa and Uefa Conferenceโ€ฆ.

Leeds also won UCL previously known as European Cup in 1975? Standards can deteriorate so fast. Time to get a good manager in early, get the best young players that can be coached, dispose the sacks of sand we have and start the rebuild

In the summer I want to see the club recruit at least a couple of proven leaders, I donโ€™t mind the young signings but you need to have a balance and games like last night just go to show how sorely we lack leaders.

I thought it was a joke but Chelsea legit haven't scored a single goal since returning from the international break.

Brighton, Real Madrid and Brentford up next.

Henry on Felixโ€™s chance: โ€œOn his 2nd touch, cut across the defender, straight away make him make a foul or he has to let you go 1 v 1, it could have been a red, at the end of the day you donโ€™t finish Courtois saves it, this is a chance that you have early against Real Madrid away, you have to take it.โ€ [CBS] #CFC

I wonder why this guy isn't playing anymore especially when you see Kova's recent performances...

Is it something to do with the loan agreement?? ๐Ÿค”

Understand Chelsea want to refine their loan system.

Loans appreciated for development & in line with ideas for a multi-club structure, but a 2-year loan policy is being considered.

If a player is not developing after 2 loans, Chelsea will push to sell rather than keep on books

๐Ÿ†˜Frank Lampard on Kalidou Koulibaly:

"No, he won't be available for either game [vs Brighton and Real Madrid]. Hamstring injury. Matter of weeks rather than days."

๐Ÿ†˜Frank Lampard on lack of goals:

"I understood it before I came, trying to address it is our job."

๐Ÿ†˜Frank Lampard:

"It's important that the lads are focused in this period. It's important as a #Chelsea player you understand the expectations and I see a desire to do that."

๐Ÿ†˜Frank Lampard on Enzo Fernandez's reported contract extension:

"I can't confirm that because I don't know. From working with him, he's been a standout player in attitude and quality. He's a fantastic player for this club."

๐Ÿ†˜Frank Lampard on getting through a period like this:

"The only way to solve it is through hard work and focus."

๐Ÿ†˜Frank Lampard:

"Brighton is a fantastic model, you can see good progression. #Chelsea's path is different one. Been successful for a long time, a club where there is different transitions: ownership, players that have left, players for future."

๐Ÿ†˜Frank Lampard:

"We have to understand when you're in a process, there will be moments where you have to dig in. We are where we are, but at the same time you work towards a standard. We want to get there."

๐Ÿ†˜Frank Lampard on Brighton & Roberto De Zerbi:

"Really good. Certain style and identity. Worked with Graham there before, then he's taken it on with his touches and stability. Really good team offensively and defensively. Very, very tough match. We'll have to physically compete."

Frank Lampard on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang:

"We'll see. I don't want to go position specific. The players have to feel when they train and turn up, prepare and competitive nature to get a place, it has to be high in every position. You have to show you're worthy of a place."
