๐ฃ๏ธ Xabi Alonso on Chelseaโs 5-1 win over AFC Bournemouth [H] in the Premier League:
๐ค โI think that today was a very complete performance.
โWe were in control for most of the parts of the game, so Iโm happy with that. We had a good stability in defence as well, just a couple of situations in the first half.
โAnd the second half, after conceding the 3-1 for eight minutes to the 4-1, we were not in control but overall happy with the game, with the performance.
โItโs many positives to take from the future and other ones to keep going.โ

โI have nothing to do [with it], so I donโt have the answer. We always speak about how we try to start the game with good energy, but I have no explanation, no credit to me.
โIt has never happened to me in such a short period to score that many early goals. So, letโs see if we can keep doing that. But after the goals, many other things need to happen. Maybe I prefer to score the first one in the last minute. It will happen one day, hopefully.โ

โWe signed him for everything. If heโs able to score two beauties as today, we are more than happy for him. But apart from the goals, heโs done many, many good things.
โHeโs played a very midfielder performance, always being involved in the action, always giving solutions to the teammates.โ

โWe will assess it week by week.โ

๐จ๐ต Morgan Rogers is asked about when Enzo Maresca said Joao Pedro couldn't get 20 goals a season:
"He's on top of his game right now; he works in training on arriving, getting in the box and scoring goals, and he's been doing that every game since I've been here. Maybe he's changed, maybe he's adapting from last season."
"He's definitely a goal scorer in my eyes." ๐
