Back at home for Premier League action! 🙌

𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋: Cole Palmer has signed a new contract with Chelsea until June 2034. ✍️

🗣️ On signing a new deal, Palmer said:

“Chelsea means a lot to me and I think the club is going in the right direction, so I'm delighted to sign and I’m obviously very happy.

“Speaking to the owners, to the sporting directors and obviously the manager, they gave me a lot of confidence so it was only right to sign.

“Speaking to players as well, everyone has the same ambitions. I feel like we win major trophies here consistently and I want to be a part of that and play a big role in it too.”

Since joining the Blues in August 2023, Palmer has established himself as one of the world’s finest attacking players.

He has provided 91 goal contributions in 138 appearances, won the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Conference League, while claiming an array of individual awards.

The 24-year-old has also made history on the international stage, becoming only the second England player to score in a European Championship final when he netted against Spain at Euro 2024.

Congratulations, Cole Palmer! 👏

🗣️ Xabi Alonso on Chelsea’s 5-1 win over AFC Bournemouth [H] in the Premier League:

🤝 “I think that today was a very complete performance.

“We were in control for most of the parts of the game, so I’m happy with that. We had a good stability in defence as well, just a couple of situations in the first half.

“And the second half, after conceding the 3-1 for eight minutes to the 4-1, we were not in control but overall happy with the game, with the performance.

“It’s many positives to take from the future and other ones to keep going.”

😅 𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬:

“I have nothing to do [with it], so I don’t have the answer. We always speak about how we try to start the game with good energy, but I have no explanation, no credit to me.

“It has never happened to me in such a short period to score that many early goals. So, let’s see if we can keep doing that. But after the goals, many other things need to happen. Maybe I prefer to score the first one in the last minute. It will happen one day, hopefully.”

🎩 𝐎𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭:

“We signed him for everything. If he’s able to score two beauties as today, we are more than happy for him. But apart from the goals, he’s done many, many good things.

“He’s played a very midfielder performance, always being involved in the action, always giving solutions to the teammates.”

🏥 𝐎𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐞 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬’ 𝐢𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐫𝐲, 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐝:

“He felt something but after we did the tests later in the afternoon and he had some little issues on the knee so we need to check how long it will be.

“We will assess it week by week.”
