🚨 Trevoh Chalobah is already the subject of enquiries from clubs in England and abroad. He is highly regarded at Chelsea, and they are in no rush to sell him. He has two years left on his contract, but there is an option for an extra year.

 Chalobah on his World Cup call up:

“I was literally in Times Square. I went to the shops to get something. It was when I got back to my hotel I saw Thomas had texted, but it was two hours before. I didn’t see the message for two hours. I wasn’t on my phone, I was just walking around the city. Got back to the hotel, looked at my phone and he had asked if I could call him.

My heart just dropped. I wouldn’t say I was ready, but I was on holiday in New York already, just planning my holiday and not thinking about the World Cup. I just got the text on the Monday, I was surprised and I was ready to go.’’

Chalobah on Tuchel: “When I was at Chelsea, he tried to bring me to Bayern. We’ve always had that special relationship. He’s the one that gave me my debut in 2021 in my breakthrough season. So we’ve always had that.”

Chalobah on Xabi Alonso: “We are all excited to work with him. He’s a manager like that, an ex-player as well, coming in and automatically you can just feel the presence, knowing what he is going to demand.’’

Chelsea are interested in Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix.

It is understood the Blues want to sign a centre-back this summer and Lacroix is one of their main targets for the position.

There are three or four other names they are also considering.

With three years remaining on his contract, Palace are not under pressure to cash in, but they would consider selling at the right price and are in a reasonably strong negotiating position. They would also need to find a replacement before allowing Lacroix to leave.
