๐ฃ๏ธ Calum McFarlane on being Chelsea interim head coach:
๐ช โItโs definitely a bigger challenge, working in the Premier League and with the level of opposition youโre playing against.
โIโd like to think Iโve worked hard throughout my whole career, whether it was being an Under-11s coach, whether it was being an U15s coach, whether it was U18s or U21s.
โIโve always worked really hard to make sure Iโve given the players everything they need to be successful. Itโs a bigger challenge in terms of the level. But you have to work hard in this job - itโs a demanding job.
โWhen you mention the family, itโs nice, because itโs been such a crazy six months. Itโs nice to still have that bit of normality when you go home. Theyโve been massive and really helpful when you need to take a break, when you need to switch off from it. That is so helpful in those moments.
โBut Iโve enjoyed the challenge, the pressure and the demands. Iโm just trying to do the best job I can for the club, for the fans, for the players. Iโve enjoyed it.โ

โGoing home and watching Cars with my two-year-old son, or Bluey, or whatever he likes to watch. Having dinner, spending time, switching off. Normal things.โ
๐ ๐๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฉ:
โI donโt know the exact years, but [the FA Cup is] one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions in world football. Everyone remembers watching it in the morning, the build-up, three, four-hour build-up, all the pass replays.
โBeing at Chelsea, you remember that [Roberto] Di Matteo scored 30, 40 seconds into the game. Iโve obviously taken one game against Leeds [in the semi-final]. Iโve obviously had loads of games in the Youth Cup, not won it, but had loads of games in the Youth Cup. So, yes, itโs a massive competition. Weโre all really proud to play in this.โ
