๐ฃ๏ธ Liam Rosenior on Chelseaโs 3-0 defeat against @Paris_Saint_Germain [8-2 on aggregate to PSG] in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second-leg:
๐ค โWe obviously wanted to put up more of a fight than what we did.. 'Credit to PSG. Their possession play was really, really top in the game and over the two legs, they deserve to go through.
โI think football is about flow and momentum, and if you give the opposition flow and momentum without them having to work so hard, they get more confident.
โSo, if I look back โ and I've already watched some of the game back โ the first six minutes, we're in the game, we're in their half of the pitch and then they score.
โI know Mamadou (Sarr) is a great young player, and this is something you have to ride and learn from, but we make a mistake, an individual error. There's nothing tactical and Kvaratskhelia, because he's a top player, scores.
โThat gives them confidence, gives them a cushion and Barcola hits one from 25 yards into the top corner. I don't remember them having a shot either side of that.
โWe have to learn at the top, top level to be clinical and to make sure we keep the back door shut. We've done neither over the two legs, that's why we're out of the competition.โ

โTrev, I donโt know the extent of his injury.
โWe missed Malo [Gusto].
โWe had to make a decision on Malo who was in the team three hours before todayโs game.
โBenoit Badiashile was really, really ill for this game also.โ

Trevoh Chalobah had to be stretchered off in Chelsea's clash vs. PSG with a high-ankle sprain (syndesmosis injury).
Nasty one for Chalobah, after a challenge from Hakimi. Liam Rosenoir added, "Heโs got a high ankle sprain, so Iโm praying itโs nothing too serious." However, I wouldn't be this surprised if this resulted in an extended recovery.
Chalobah also added on Instagram that "my ankle should be broken," which could point towards something more serious.
Expected Recovery Times:
If moderate-grade syndesmosis: 4-6 weeks
If high-grade syndesmosis: 8-10 weeks w/ surgery
If syndesmosis + fracture: 12+ weeks
Will need further clarification from the club on the confirmed diagnosis. However, this looks like a lengthy recovery for Chalobah.

"There is something happening behind the scenes. My understanding is that there has been a conversation for some months between Enzo Fernandez and Chelsea to try to find a solution over contract terms to try to adjust the contract. At the moment, still no agreement."
"If they can't find a solution, which I'm sure they will try to, Enzo could be open to exploring options in the summer."

Mykhailo Mudryk has sent a reminder that he is working hard, despite his ban from football. The Ukraine international is unable to train with Chelsea as he awaits the verdict on his doping case after an โadverse finding in a routine urine testโ.
Mudryk has not played for the Blues since November 2024 and is training away from Cobham with a private coach.

๐ฃ๏ธ Liam Rosenior ahead of Everton [A] in the Premier League:
๐ฅ ๐๐ง ๐ญ๐๐๐ฆ ๐ง๐๐ฐ๐ฌ:
โObviously, itโs never good that Trevoh [Chalobah] is out for any period of time, but fortunately, itโs not as serious as we first feared.
โItโs still a serious injury but weโre looking at a period of six weeks, which is disappointing but from where we were a couple of days ago, straight after the game, we are in a better place than we thought.
โUnfortunately, Filip [Jorgensen] had his scan and needed a minor operation. Nothing too serious again, itโs a matter of weeks.
โWith Reece [James], weโre going to look more after the international break. Itโs not serious, but there is something in his hamstring [scan] and itโs something weโll monitor after the international break.
โItโs brilliant to have his [Levi Colwill] presence back on the training pitch, and while we want to see him back out there on the pitch as soon as possible, it has to be within the right timeframe.
โHeโs still looking at a good while [before returning to first-team action] yet. Hopefully, that can be this season, which would be a massive boost.โ

โIโve worked with him for nearly two years. Iโm so excited for his career. Thatโs why heโs here. You have to go through negative experiences at times to improve. Heโll come back. He trained very well today. Heโs completely a massive part of our plans moving forward. And this, in the long run, for the pain that heโs gone through, will make him an even better player.
โWe all make mistakes. You have to make sure you learn from them. And thatโs where Mamadou is in his career. And if he learns from his mistakes then itโs so exciting to see what he can become as a player.โ
