βI think every player works on being the best player they can be regardless of the role that theyβre asked to carry out.
βFor Joao, heβs had real rhythm. Iβve asked him to do different things and heβs taken it on board and heβs put it into practice. Heβs been outstanding.
βThe true test for Joao now β which is the exciting thing β is if he can maintain this level of intensity and this level of quality, he can be one of the best strikers in world football.
βI truly believe that, but itβs a possibility at the moment - if he maintains that level.β

π£οΈ Liam Rosenior on Chelseaβs 1-1 draw against Burnley [H] in the Premier League:
π€ βNo, that wasnβt on Wesley [Fofanaβs red card]. That was on our performance.
βFrom the first goal, we lacked incision when we had control. I want incision. I want us to create wave after wave of attack. We were too safe in our possession. When you give a team a one-goal advantage, anything can happen.
βThe red card happens, youβre down to 10 men. We knew their biggest threat with Ward-Prowse on the pitch was set plays. We went as big as we possibly could because that was the only way they could score with 10 men. We still donβt see it out.
βI think the frustration is more the last two home games. From being in winning positions and being in control of the game to not win the two games, thatβs the biggest frustration. Itβs not a blame on an individual.β
πΆβπ«οΈ On two consecutive draws at Stamford Bridge:
βWhat has happened with me is we have set fire to four points from two home games. Itβs not good enough for a club of this level. Itβs not good enough for me to come and say we were the better team. We need to be the better team in every game. We need to win games of football. I know what the answer is and we will address it in the week.
βThereβs an inquest after every game whether we win or lose. Iβm learning about the players. Iβm learning about the people you can lean on when things arenβt going your way and you need to see a game out. Thatβs something we need to address very quickly.β
π€ On the second-half:
βI felt the second-half performance was actually miles better than the first-half performance, even though we were 1-0 up at half-time.
βUp until the red card, I felt it was wave after wave of attack [in the second half]. We didnβt make the right decision for the moments that we created and we didnβt finish off the game when we should have. When you donβt do that, you leave yourself open.
βBut thereβs too many instances where weβve conceded goals from moments of lack of concentration, lack of accountability. If we want to maximise the potential, which I know is there, we have to address that very quickly.β

Official statement from chelseafc:
βChelsea Football Club is appalled and disgusted by vile online racist abuse directed at Wesley Fofana.
βThe targeted racist abuse Wes has been subjected to following todayβs Premier League fixture against Burnley is abhorrent and will not be tolerated.
βSuch behaviour is completely unacceptable and runs counter to the values of the game and everything we stand for as a club. There is no room for racism.
βWe stand unequivocally with Wes. He has our full support, as do all our players who are too often forced to endure this hatred simply for doing their job.
βWe will work with the relevant authorities and platforms in identifying the perpetrators and take the strongest possible action.β
