βIβve demanded from the first day of stepping in. We donβt have many training sessions, but we spoke about reacting positively to setbacks. Weβve spoken about reactions to losing the ball, pressing, energy, intensity. All of that was there in the second half, which wasnβt there in the first half.
βI donβt put that just down to the changes I made. Itβs very difficult. Weβve had so many games in a short space of time. I was fearful of a lack of energy and not energy or lack of application, but I felt our decision-making was really poor in the first half. When to keep the ball, when we pressed, we were just too far off it.
βWest Ham were by far the better team. We had a reaction at half-time. The reaction of the team in the second half tells me that weβve got something really, really special here if I can utilise the squad in the correct way.
βI thought individually, collectively, our first-half performance was nowhere near the level that it needed to be and should be. The individuals came off and then people will look at them. That wasnβt on them. It was a collective. There was a collective poor performance in the first half.

George has been given permission to travel for a medical and the deal includes an option to buy at the end of the season. The agreement is pending ratification on the Everton side.

The deal is understood to include a potential obligation to buy based on certain conditions being met.
Joining the Blues through the development centre programme at the age of eight, Runham has progressed through the youth ranks at the Academy.
He featured regularly for the Under-18s as a schoolboy during the 2022/23 campaign and, aged 15, became the then-youngest-ever UEFA Youth League goalscorer with a strike against Dinamo Zagreb.
