🤝 “I was very happy with the attitude of the team, even in the first-half. This is not an easy place to come, third round of the FA Cup.

“I felt our press was very intense and really good. I felt we controlled the game, created a couple of chances from outside the box. The goal came at a really good time. It was a fantastic finish from [Jorrel] Hato.

“The game opens up second-half…we know we have outstanding players. I was able to bring on some outstanding players from the bench. But I have to say I was delighted with the starting XI too.

“I believe in this group. I believe in all of them. And if we want to have a really strong season, we need to use them (all).

Chelsea are considering recalling Ecuador international Kendry Paez this month from what was meant to be a season-long loan at RC Strasbourg.

Paez has made 20 appearances but started only seven of them and has been increasingly left out of the side.

A move to an English club instead is one of the options and would open up an international loan spot for somebody else.

Chelsea put the club’s head of medical onto the bench after former head coach Enzo Maresca repeatedly refused to substitute players returning from injury.

It’s understood that officials sent Maresca a formal letter to remind him of his responsibilities as the relationship between the Italian and his bosses reached breaking point at Chelsea.

Following ‘re-injuries’ to two, unnamed players, Chelsea took the unusual step of inserting Australian Bryce Cavanagh into the technical area.

The move was made so Cavanagh could remind Maresca of the agreed times when those coming back from injury should be taken off to minimise the risk of a relapse.
