🤝 “It was a tough game for many reasons: after the international break, 12 in the morning, Burnley away, a pitch with small dimensions.

“So it was a very tricky game, and the way the players competed was good, with another clean sheet.

“They had just one good chance that was in the second half, and then we conceded some chaos inside the box which is part of the game, but overall we deserved to win and we are happy.“

STARTING XI:

Sánchez – 7: Not heavily tested but dealt with everything.The only negative was the unnecessary rocket he fired into Enzo’s head.

James – 7: Solid 45 minutes. Nothing got past him. Did his job, no risks, no mistakes.

Tosin – 8: Outstanding. 4 clearances, 1 block, won all ground duels, and progressed the ball well. One of the key reasons for the clean sheet.

Chalobah – 7.5: Strong defensive display. Tackles, interceptions, blocks, recoveries — all on point. Passing can still be cleaner, but overall very solid.

Cucurella – 7: Energetic and everywhere defensively and played a part in the first goal.

A.Santos – 8 [MOTM]: Arguably his best Chelsea performance. Excellent as Caicedo’s replacement. Composed, disciplined, and mistake-free.

Fernández – 8: Created 3 key passes and scored with a brilliant late box run. Controlled the midfield rhythm throughout.

Neto – 7.5: Good header goal and unlucky not to score again. Worked hard, picked up a yellow.

J.Pedro – 5.5: One key pass but lacked creativity overall. Lost most duels but did well in the air. Not his best showing.

Gittens – 7.5: Erratic decision-making at times, but delivered a fantastic cross that became an assist. Completed 100% of his dribbles.

Delap – 5.5: Too selfish in the final third — consistently forced shots instead of making the decisive pass. Strong in ground duels but little else.

SUBSTITUTES:

Badiashile – 6.5: Good to see him back. Solid cameo but gave away a cheap yellow.

Gusto – 6.5: Won all duels, but Chelsea’s tempo dropped notably once he came on.

Guiu – 7.5: Super-sub. Showed maturity beyond his age. Won the physical battle, broke through 1v1, and unselfishly squared it for Enzo. Perfect impact. Delap and Joao should take notes.
