🚨 Cole Palmer has returned to the grass at Cobham and will step up his work. Palmer is determined to make up for lost time and go to the World Cup.

It has been noticed inside Cobham that Palmer has spent his time wisely in the gym while he has been injured, which has been noticeable in a change of physique. He has watched training from the touchline when he has not been in rehab or recovery and has very much remained part of the group.

While Palmer is not one of the vocal members of the dressing room, he is part of the Chelsea leadership group and is described as being “glue” within the club; as somebody who can connect with different ages and profiles of people.

Palmer is said to be just as likely to sit with a member of staff or a scout to eat his lunch as he is another player. He has struck up a good early relationship with Estêvão. Those who have known Palmer since his early days at City insist his personality has not changed along with his status and that he remains easy to talk to and surprisingly down to earth. #CFC

Moises Caicedo played the full 90 minutes in the early hours of this morning and 180 minutes over the international break in two pointless friendlies. Chelsea travel to Burnley on Friday.

Andrey Santos stayed in Europe with Brazil and didn’t play at all. Santos will most likely start on Saturday with @Barcelonaen and @Arsenal_london to come after. Huge chance for Andrey, with Lavia out as well. We have to protect Caicedo, as his national team manager never. No more international breaks till March thankfully but a lot of games coming up. #CFC

“Cole [Palmer] won’t be available for for tomorrow, no.

“For sure he won’t feature in this game, and for sure not for Barcelona or Arsenal. Unfortunately, he had an accident at home two days ago where he hit his toe. It is fractured. It’s disappointing but these things can happen.

“It’s nothing too serious but it’s causing him some pain on his little toe and for sure he’s not going to be available for this week or next.

“He was very close to being back with us from his groin issue. Which is very good but then he had this problem with his toe, which has set him back. It’s nothing major but he needs a bit more time to recover.”

“Moi [Caicedo] came back last night [from international duty]. I haven’t seen him yet but I’ve been told he’s okay and he will train today.

“Benoit [Badiashile] is back and he’s available for tomorrow, which is very good news for us.

Chelsea have had a football boot specially adapted for Cole Palmer to help the midfielder return from his injured toe as quickly as possible.

Palmer was on the brink of returning from a groin injury when he stubbed the little toe on his left foot on Wednesday night, causing a small fracture.

One of Palmer’s boots has been adapted for him to test on the training ground to help provide more cushioning to the area around his injured little toe.
