STARTING XI:

Sanchez - 6: Great with the passes throughout, maybe could have done better with the goals conceded (-0.24 Goals Prevented). Not much to do overall, with Qarabag having 3 shots on target.

James - 6: Good in the build-up play, but weak in defence, losing half of his duels, albeit he made a crucial tackle at the end.

Tosin - 6: UPDATED - 5.5: Won a lot of his duels, and all of his tackles were clean. Was slow on the first goal conceded.

Hato - 3: Error leading to goal and the penalty commited says it all. Good thing he was stable in the second half, but the first half was horrible.

Cucurella - 5: Defence was horrible overall, and Cucurella didn’t help losing that much duels. Tried to support the attack, but with very little efficiency. Also didn’t mark the Andrade on the first goal.

Santos - 6: Had only the first half and delivered with an assist. Had a key pass, but he needs to improve his shooting. Got a yellow card too.

Lavia - N/A: Unlucky with injuries as always, got subbed off in the 8th minute.

Estevao - 8.5 [MOTM]: Great goal, massive in duels and magical dribbles. Joga Bonito was on display tonight. Needs to pass more to his teammates though.

J.Pedro - 6: Great build-up play for the first goal, but besides that didn’t do much in the game.

Gittens - 5: Good dribbles and passing, but should improve his end product and overall play.

George - 4: Tried but didn’t do much. The winger out of position at Striker, struggled with the Qarabag defenders a lot.

SUBSTITUTES:

Caicedo - 6.5: Stepped in and did the best he could. Solid overall performance.

Fernandez - 6.5: A lot of influence in attack, had chances but didn’t convert them.

Delap - 7: Great hold-up play, fantastic pass to Garnacho from our own half, who scored the second goal. Should have been active more in attack, but seems he’s not 100% fit yet.

Garnacho - 7.5: Great goal which secured us the draw, but horrible dribbling and passing.

Buonanotte - 5.5: Very little impact, had a great shot that was near the post.

“In our box, we conceded two goals that we can avoid. In their box, for the amount of times we arrived there, we need to be a bit more clinical.

“We started in the right way, we scored the goal then we conceded two silly goals. Qarabag pressed well, but we also had many chances in the way we tried to build. There are things we could do better, but overall we also did some good things

“We take the point, we go home and now it’s important to try to recover the energy to go again on Saturday.”
