𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: Clubs who were pursuing the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town are being informed that he is not moving to them, amid the England youth striker’s preference to join Chelsea.

Sources at teams including Manchester United, Newcastle United, Everton, Nottingham Forest, AC Milan and Juventus — speaking on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships — say they are now aware he is heading elsewhere.

Subject to agreement on personal terms and the requirements of Delap’s £30 million release clause being met, Delap will move to Chelsea.

Despite Ipswich’s struggles at the wrong end of the table — and subsequent relegation — Delap enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, scoring 12 goals in the Premier League.

The England Under-21 international has a £30million ($40m) release clause in his contract at Ipswich that became active following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

The 22-year-old’s personal terms are not anticipated to be a problem and he is now expected to move to Stamford Bridge.

After Chelsea’s Conference League triumph over Real Betis, most of the squad wanted to get to the coach and head to the afterparty rather than discuss the evening’s events with the media. Loud screaming could be heard from the press conference room as journalists waited for Cole Palmer and Enzo Maresca to go through their official duties.

Once done, Palmer was so distracted by the thought of getting away from a microphone, he left his man-of-the-match award behind. Fortunately, Tosin Adarabioyo, who had come with him mainly for moral support, picked it up for him. “You forget this!” he said with great mirth. 😅🎖️
