👀 “In my opinion, we are a better team that one month ago or two months ago because in this kind of moment, these kind of games, for sure they are going to make us better because we need to live this experience.

“The high pressing; you have to be brave in these kinds of games, knowing that if you have to press higher then you leave their best player - which is Haaland - one-v-one against your defender. But I think we dealt, for most parts of the game, quite well.

Chelsea really appreciate Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, who has a release clause in his contract which is valid from this summer.

He’s understood to be high on the Blues’ list, while Bayern Munich have also shown interest in the 19-year-old.

STARTING XI:

Sanchez - 3: Woeful for the second goal and should’ve even done better for the first.

James - 6.5: Good in duels and made some nice recoveries. Caught out with his positioning during the first half, but improved in the second.

Chalobah - 6: Great first half but below par in second half defensively. Lack of intelligence showed in the third goal.

Colwill - 4: Should’ve done much better for the second and third goal. Really poor.

Cucurella - 5.5: Wasn’t at his usual best, poor going forward and should have done better with the chance he had in the second half

Caicedo - 6: Couldn’t have done much more in midfield, massive imbalance without Lavia.

Fernandez - 5: Looked too vulnerable when defending, didn’t really play many killer balls either.

Madueke - 7: Scored and was only player who bothered to take on his man. Should’ve done better for City’s equaliser though.

Palmer - 6: Not at his best again, it almost felt he was not on the pitch at times.

Sancho - 5.5: Looked slow on and off the ball, expected a lot more intensity.

Jackson - 5: Clear to see why he still has many doubters, lacked any true conviction despite the assist.

SUBSTITUTES:

Nkunku - 5.5: Didn’t really have many touches, kept the ball when he did.
