McAleer was rehab physio for Spurs from 2018 to 2021 and has been working at Red Bullโs Athlete Performance Centre in Salzburg for the last three years.
His role there has been linking the groupโs teams โ New York, Leipzig, Bragantino and Salzburg โ in terms of their medical and therapy teams.
At Chelsea, he replaces Fearghal Kerin as Rehab Physio. Kerin left the Blues earlier this month after two years.
Chelsea have split their physio team between rehab and performance. The Rehab Physio focuses on injured players and helping them towards full fitness, while the Performance Physio focuses on the matchday squad, often working pitchside, as well as on prehab (injury prevention).

A player blessed with attributes not many strikers can boast of; the link up play, agility, skills, pace, power but what was really missing last year was clinical finishing.
His big chance conversion rate was very poor and also seemed to lack a bit of confidence, this year however, he plays like he has a lot to prove.
Man bullies top defenders like VVD, Saliba, Konate anytime we face them, his ceiling is very high with right development.

Mheuka became a full-time scholar in the summer and has now signed professional terms following his 17th birthday on Sunday.
He featured regularly for the Under-18s as a schoolboy during the 2023/24 season, scoring 12 goals in 20 appearances, including the Premier League national final at Stamford Bridge.
This term, he has stepped up to the Under-21s squad and netted his first goal at that level in the 6-0 win over Fulham at the start of October. He is part of the travelling squad for tonightโs UEFA Conference League clash with Panathinaikos.
