STARTING XI:
Sanchez - 4.5: Didnโt have many saves to make and a few shaky moments other than that.
James - 5: Looked quite sharp considering how little heโs played in recent months but didnโt have a chance to involve himself.
Tosin - 4: Looked uncomfortable dealing with long balls and playing out the back at times.
Colwill - 4: Not his best game. Gave away the penalty which was probably avoidable and passing wasnโt up to his usual standard. Improved slightly in the second half.
Gusto - 5: Played in a somewhat unfamiliar role in the first half before he switched to right back. Passing and other attacking contributions werenโt sharp enough but defended well generally.
Lavia - 7.5: Relieved the pressure many times and showcased his impressive passing ability. Another nice display vs one of the leagues best.
Caicedo - 8.5 [MOTM]: Chelseaโs best player today without a doubt. Ran endlessly, made multiple tackles, and used his strength properly. On the attacking side, he always looked to go forward, dribbled tidily, and moved the ball around. Great assist for Jackson with the throughball.
Palmer - 5: Quiet game by his standards, being heavily marked. Still had a couple of bright moments nonetheless, and others where he could have done better.
Sancho - 4: Saw a lot of the ball but didnโt test Alexander-Arnold at all. Had a penalty claim dismissed.
Jackson - 6.5: Made a great run and took his goal expertly. Had a very tough job today against Van Dijk and Konate.
Madueke - 6.5: One of the most promising players in the first half, often being the attacking outlet and giving Robertson a lot of headache, but had a quieter second half.
SUBSTITUTES:
Neto - 6.5: Showed a lot of promise both on the left and right wings. Made good runs, dribbled well and made a great cross that almost found Nkunku.
Badiashile - 6.5: Well played, tidy passing and in his defensive work.
Veiga - 4.5: Could have been more precise at times. Missed a good chance with a header.
Enzo - 5.5: Did OK when he came on. Combined well with Neto a few times.
Nkunku - N/A

Enzo Maresca: โWe donโt like to lose but if we had to lose, this is how to lose. Itโs a shame we didnโt get anything out of the game because we deserve at least a draw.โ

๐ช๐จ Moises Caicedo registered more successful attacking third passes (12) than any other player for either Liverpool or Chelsea. Arguably the best player on the pitch during the defeat.

๐๐๐๐๐: Former @Tottenhm physio Stephen McAleer has joined Chelsea as the Blues continue to revamp their medical department.
McAleer was rehab physio for Spurs from 2018 to 2021 and has been working at Red Bullโs Athlete Performance Centre in Salzburg for the last three years.
His role there has been linking the groupโs teams โ New York, Leipzig, Bragantino and Salzburg โ in terms of their medical and therapy teams.
At Chelsea, he replaces Fearghal Kerin as Rehab Physio. Kerin left the Blues earlier this month after two years.
Chelsea have split their physio team between rehab and performance. The Rehab Physio focuses on injured players and helping them towards full fitness, while the Performance Physio focuses on the matchday squad, often working pitchside, as well as on prehab (injury prevention).
๐ฃ๏ธ Writing on LinkedIn, McAleer said:
โAfter almost four fantastic years in Austria, Iโm excited to share that Iโve accepted a new role to join Chelsea Football Club as the Lead of Performance Rehabilitation.
โExcited to join a great team and for the road that lies ahead. Letโs gooooooo!โ
