STARTING XI:
Sanchez - 4.5: Didnβt have many saves to make and a few shaky moments other than that.
James - 5: Looked quite sharp considering how little heβs played in recent months but didnβt have a chance to involve himself.
Tosin - 4: Looked uncomfortable dealing with long balls and playing out the back at times.
Colwill - 4: Not his best game. Gave away the penalty which was probably avoidable and passing wasnβt up to his usual standard. Improved slightly in the second half.
Gusto - 5: Played in a somewhat unfamiliar role in the first half before he switched to right back. Passing and other attacking contributions werenβt sharp enough but defended well generally.
Lavia - 7.5: Relieved the pressure many times and showcased his impressive passing ability. Another nice display vs one of the leagues best.
Caicedo - 8.5 [MOTM]: Chelseaβs best player today without a doubt. Ran endlessly, made multiple tackles, and used his strength properly. On the attacking side, he always looked to go forward, dribbled tidily, and moved the ball around. Great assist for Jackson with the throughball.
Palmer - 5: Quiet game by his standards, being heavily marked. Still had a couple of bright moments nonetheless, and others where he could have done better.
Sancho - 4: Saw a lot of the ball but didnβt test Alexander-Arnold at all. Had a penalty claim dismissed.
Jackson - 6.5: Made a great run and took his goal expertly. Had a very tough job today against Van Dijk and Konate.
Madueke - 6.5: One of the most promising players in the first half, often being the attacking outlet and giving Robertson a lot of headache, but had a quieter second half.
SUBSTITUTES:
Neto - 6.5: Showed a lot of promise both on the left and right wings. Made good runs, dribbled well and made a great cross that almost found Nkunku.
Badiashile - 6.5: Well played, tidy passing and in his defensive work.
Veiga - 4.5: Could have been more precise at times. Missed a good chance with a header.
Enzo - 5.5: Did OK when he came on. Combined well with Neto a few times.
Nkunku - N/A

Enzo Maresca: βWe donβt like to lose but if we had to lose, this is how to lose. Itβs a shame we didnβt get anything out of the game because we deserve at least a draw.β

πͺπ¨ Moises Caicedo registered more successful attacking third passes (12) than any other player for either Liverpool or Chelsea. Arguably the best player on the pitch during the defeat.
