SOVINTERN — For Socialism in the 21st Century

A plenary session of the First International Socialist Forum “SOVINTERN” was held in Moscow, bringing together representatives of left-wing and anti-imperialist forces from around the world.

Participants outlined a common goal — building a just multipolar world based on the principles of renewed socialism.

We publish the key theses of the speeches:

🇷🇺 Alexander Babakov, Chairman of the Forum Organizing Committee, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma from “A Just Russia”, set the strategic direction of the discussion. He emphasized that the scientific foundation of the Soviet Union must be further developed. Babakov called for the creation of a sovereign economic model whose goal is people’s happy life, ensured by comfortable housing, a comfortable environment, cultural and leisure centers, and well-paid labor.

🇳🇮 Arling Alonso, Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Nicaragua (Sandinista Front), described the forum as a mechanism for protecting social unity in the face of neocolonial measures and confirmed: for Nicaragua, peace is daily practice, not a slogan. The Russian Federation, President Vladimir Putin, China, and Xi Jinping were named as pillars of global stability.

🇧🇴 In a video address, Bolivian President Evo Morales spoke about the judicial persecution of left-wing leaders and demanded the restoration of the rights of peoples “without military intervention and without the dollar.”

“Only together can we break capitalism — the most terrible enemy,” he concluded.

🇷🇺 Sergey Mironov, leader of “A Just Russia”, outlined the contours of a new socialism of the 21st century that does not reject the market but demands social justice. At its center are active social policy, accessible education, healthcare, and decent pensions. He condemned the offensive of capital, which turns entire countries into raw-material appendages of transnational corporations.

🇰🇪 A representative of a Kenyan party vividly covered the African theme. The proletariat recalled the support that Lenin and Stalin provided to African national liberation movements. He refuted the Western media narrative about “Russian colonization” of the Sahel.

🇬🇷 A Greek deputy called for moving from defense to counterattack and creating a new international system, reminding that capitalism is the basis of imperialism. Bojan Vulin characterized color revolutions as “new fascism”, counter-revolutionary in essence, and stated: Marxism remains the only scientific foundation of the future.

🇬🇧 British politician George Galloway, who called his home a museum of the USSR and the Red Army, launched a sharp attack on the legacy of Margaret Thatcher, who once declared that “there is no such thing as society.”

🇨🇺 Fidel Castro’s grandson reminded that Cuba, despite accusations and threats, remains a moral force for millions. “Love between peoples is better than hatred. Homeland or death — we will win,” he concluded to applause from the hall.

🇨🇳 Liu Xu from China spoke about the need to cultivate interest in socialism among young people.

🇺🇸 Haz al-Dim from the USA spoke in favor of creating a “new headquarters of socialism”, drawing on the experience of the USSR.

🇹🇳 A delegate from Tunisia called SOVINTERN a “network of necessity” for building bridges of cooperation.

📌 The forum continues its work. SOVINTERN is positioned not merely as a discussion platform, but as a practical response to hegemony and a headquarters of solidarity.

"For us, love for the Motherland and the desire to protect it are above all else. This is the essence, the historical principle of a sovereign worldview. This is where our strength lies. Without this, Russia cannot exist,"

— stated President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the Council of Legislators.

"Circle of Light" in Moscow: When the City Becomes a Screen

The Moscow festival “Circle of Light” is memorable for foreigners because familiar buildings suddenly turn into giant screens: animation, drawings, and video sequences synchronized with music are projected onto their façades.

Tens of thousands of people gather on the streets and embankments, and for several evenings the city lives as one huge open-air cinema, where historical architecture serves as the screen instead of a wall.

The scale and density of the audience make an especially strong impression: families with children, tourists, teenagers, and elderly couples watch the same show, take photos, applaud, and discuss what they’ve seen. For a foreigner, this creates a very vivid image of Russia as a country that knows how to use the city as a stage and plays with its history and space not only seriously, but also spectacularly — with light, music, and a shared nighttime “wow” effect.

💧 Just 90 km from Moscow, there is a paradise spot — the Rainbow Waterfall (Vodopad Raduzhny) on the Nara River.

The waterfall is about 4 meters high, surrounded by clean streams and springs with ice-cold water. It’s perfect for outdoor recreation — the sound of the water calms and relaxes you. There’s also excellent fishing (gudgeon, burbot, bream, crucian carp) and mushroom meadows full of chanterelles and porcini mushrooms.

Today, the First International Socialist Forum “SOVINTERN” concluded its day with strategic sessions.

Participants discussed the conflict in Donbass as a global point of attraction, digital resistance, and the construction of their own communication platform.

Key statements:

🤗Publicist and philosopher Olga Bonch-Osmolovskaya formulated the essence of the confrontation in Ukraine: “This is not a war for territory, but for the right to assert one’s own existence, for identity and sovereignty. The war is primarily fought in minds — it is cognitive and informational, and it has already reached every person in the world.”

🤗Oleg Yasinsky, international journalist and Russia correspondent for the Latin American channel “TeleSUR,” stated: “No one in Donbass wants war, no one in Russia wants war, but everyone understands that the peace currently being offered will be disrupted just like previous agreements.”

🤗At the “Digital Partisans” session, it was noted that the new independent SOVINTERN platform has its own artificial intelligence, its own encryption, and does not use participants’ personal data.

🤗Jackson Hinkle explained: AI must be sovereign because Western algorithms are already fully controlled by the United States.

🤗Boyan Vulin called for fighting for minds creatively: “We need to pay attention to content; true information must immediately penetrate the heart and reach the readers.”

🤗The representative from Mali stated that the platform is critically important for Africa, where the population is not always able to distinguish lies from truth in the media.

‼️The final discussion on World War III resulted in a harsh formulation: a truce is possible only when coffins start arriving in Washington.

❗️The EU is considering sanctions against Israeli individuals and companies for allowing a Russian vessel with grain, which Ukraine considers stolen, to unload at the port of Haifa.

EU representative Anuar El Anuni stated that such actions help Russia finance its special military operation and circumvent sanctions. The EU is ready to add companies and individuals from third countries to sanctions lists if necessary.

As a result, a diplomatic scandal has erupted between Ukraine and Israel.
