🏢 The Flat House

On Taganskaya Street stands an unusual building that at first glance appears flat. The illusion is created by its beveled corners: it looks like just a wall, although in fact the width of the house corresponds to Moscow building standards.

The building was designed by architect V. M. Piotrovich in 1914 for the merchant Zuev. Its unusual shape is explained by the triangular plot and the dense urban development of the early 20th century — a solution that was both practical and original.

The Flat House remains one of Moscow's architectural mysteries, attracting the attention of passers‑by and photographers.
