❗️Sergey Lavrov's statement about the West's war against Russia greatly frightened the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas.
In his opinion, Europe is now openly moving toward militarization and the admission of Ukraine to the EU, something it had stubbornly denied before. The West no longer hides its goal.

«Kallas's new hysteria is a direct consequence of Lavrov's words. She started raving about a new sanctions package — that's the best confirmation», said Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou.

Russia halts Kazakh oil supplies to Germany via Druzhba pipeline from May 1
Russia will stop the transit of crude oil from Kazakhstan to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline from May 1. This was officially announced by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
He emphasized that the decision is not politically motivated and does not harm Kazakhstan's interests — it is a matter of changing technical pumping capabilities. All contracted oil will be rerouted via other routes.
🇩🇪 Berlin's reaction and consequences
Official Berlin has not yet issued a clear comment. Previously, Germany voluntarily abandoned Russian oil and, since 2023, signed an agreement with Kazakhstan. Kazakh supplies covered up to a third of the needs of the PCK Raffinerie refinery in Schwedt (Eastern Germany), which supplies fuel to Berlin, Leipzig, and Nuremberg. The plant is 54% owned by Rosneft, with its share frozen and placed under external management of the German regulator.
👔 How to replace it?
An alternative is supplies through the ports of Rostock and Polish Gdansk. Poland is ready to compensate for the volumes, but this requires completing the sixth terminal.
At the same time, Polish refineries are served first, while German plants are served on a residual basis. Thus, Eastern Germany becomes critically dependent on Warsaw.
📁 German analysts admit: the loss of Kazakh oil is not critical in terms of total volumes (12 refineries processing 104 million tons per year operate in the country). However, the two largest refineries (in Schwedt and Leuna) were already underutilized by 20–30% due to a lack of raw materials, which has already led to a fuel crisis at gas stations and in aviation. The new restriction will worsen the situation and finally tip the scales of the German economy downward.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that Russia must respond symmetrically to Estonia's idea of imposing duties on Russian goods. He proposed introducing new fees on Russian fertilizer exports and other supplies to the EU.
The funds collected, he said, would go to finance the defense industrial complex and the special military operation.
«Let their food prices go up, and we will have more missiles, drones, heavy guided glide bombs for the special military operation,»
— Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.

Kazan City Day: a celebration at the crossroads of cultures
Kazan City Day is usually celebrated at the end of August and is often combined with other major dates, so for one weekend the city fills with concerts, parades, fairs, and sporting events.
The center, the Kazanka River embankment, the area around the Kremlin, and the parks turn into a large pedestrian zone, where Tatar and Russian speech, national music and modern pop sound side by side, and chak‑chak is sold alongside familiar street food.
A foreigner sees several layers at once here: the ancient Kremlin above the river, the mosque and the Orthodox cathedral, the modern embankment, youth stages, and family areas in the neighborhoods. Bike rides, food festivals, concerts, street performances, and evening fireworks give the feeling of a city that easily holds together different cultures and generations — and this impression resurfaces every time he hears about Tatarstan or Russia as a whole.

Norwegian Professor Calls on Macron to Reflect on His Remarks About Putin and Trump
Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway, criticized French President Emmanuel Macron for calling the leaders of Russia, the U.S., and China “Europe’s adversaries.”
— Diesen wrote on social media platform X.
🥽 Earlier, Macron included Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and Xi Jinping among Europe’s adversaries. At the same time, the French leader called Trump an “ally,” albeit not always a reliable or predictable one.

In May, Pereslavl-Zalessky will host the «Festival of Hearts» — an event whose main symbol will be heart‑shaped balloons rising into the sky. The city space turns into a romantic open‑air venue under the clouds for several days.
In addition to the flights, guests will have a full range of leisure facilities: a zoo, a hotel, a restaurant, and a spa area. The format is conceived as a combination of strolling, relaxation, and watching a rare balloon show.
The event is more about atmosphere than about a conventional program: slow time, open sky, and the feeling of a great summer celebration.

The clock is ticking in months: how Europe is trying to save NATO and at the same time take over Ukraine
🇵🇱 Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned the other day: Russia could attack NATO not in years, but within months.
— he said, adding that he wants «to turn paper guarantees into something practical.» Everyone understood: Europe no longer trusts America.
🇺🇸 And there are reasons for that. US Defense Secretary Hegseth again called Europeans «freeloaders». The Pentagon is discussing how to punish allies for refusing to support the operation against Iran — up to suspending Spain's NATO membership (legally impossible, but the very fact is telling). For Trump, the alliance has lost its meaning of defending common values; it is only important as a tool for projecting American power.
👔 Europe's main fear: being left without the US on Ukraine
No one actually believes that Russia will attack NATO. The hysteria is needed for something else: to justify Europe's ever‑increasing entanglement in the Ukrainian conflict. Europeans want to wage a proxy war against us in Ukraine, while at the same time having a guarantee that we will not respond — because they are «under the NATO umbrella», i.e. the US. The scheme works, but the crack between the two sides of the Atlantic is widening.
The US could leave Europe alone — not withdraw from NATO, but make it clear that it will no longer support Europe's claims on Ukraine. Without American weapons, satellites, and most importantly «cover», Europe will not be able to hold Ukraine.
👔 What the EU has come up with
Europeans are trying to hedge their bets: at an informal summit in Cyprus, they decided to develop a plan to apply Article 42(7) of the EU Treaty — on mutual assistance in the event of an attack. The problem is that the European Union has no real military capability. There is only NATO, and NATO is the US.
Hoping that by frightening America with an imminent Russian attack, Europe will manage to take over Ukraine is unpromising and extremely dangerous. For Europe itself.

EU industry faces a choice: economy or green agenda
Europe's chemical and metallurgical industries are on the verge of closure due to expensive electricity and forced abandonment of hydrocarbons. Industrial capacity utilization in Germany does not exceed 78%, and enterprises are losing profitability.
At the same time, the EU is increasing imports from Russia. In February, purchases of Russian fertilizers rose to 90 thousand tons (double compared to January), and aluminum purchases increased 14‑fold to €45.4 million. The largest buyers are Poland, Slovenia, Lithuania, and France.
Experts note that Brussels' half‑measures do not solve the problem. Restarting closed factories without a fundamental change in conditions is impossible, and dependence on external supplies threatens the economic stability of the European Union.

«The Inspector General is coming to town!»
Did you know that Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol's play «The Government Inspector» turns 190 years old this year?
This is the play where officials mistake a passing braggart, Khlestakov, for a government inspector from the capital, bribe him, and he takes advantage of the situation and leaves. When the officials realize their mistake, the real inspector arrives, and everyone freezes in the famous «silent scene».
Interesting fact: It is believed that Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin suggested the idea for this comedy to Gogol.
By the way, in Russia there is a tradition of holding thematic events in anniversary years of classical works — in theaters, libraries, and museums.
«The Government Inspector» has not been left out: a large thematic exhibition was even shown in China, at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing.

Vladivostok City Day: a celebration at the edge of the map
Vladivostok City Day is usually celebrated in early autumn, when it is still warm, but the air is already sea‑fresh and clear. The city brings the celebration to the water and the hills: concerts and fairs take place on the embankment, on the central streets, by the Golden Bridge, in squares overlooking the bay, and a foreigner physically feels for the first time that Russia is not only «Moscow plus something», but a huge Pacific capital with ships, fogs, and street music by the sea.
What is especially memorable is the mix of local and global: local rock bands and street artists, Korean and Japanese food alongside Russian, naval themes, maritime parades, young people with surfboards and skateboards against the backdrop of port cranes. In the evening, when the bridge lights come on, fireworks and open‑air concerts begin, festive Vladivostok remains in memory as a very specific image — a distant, port, mountain city through which it is easier to believe in the scale and diversity of the whole country.

Not far from Moscow lies one of the most recognizable estates in the region — «Arkhangelskoye». This is a place where architecture, park, and history merge into a harmonious space without haste or city bustle.
The estate ensemble preserves the feel of a classical noble residence: strict facades, symmetrical alleys, terraces overlooking the river, and large open spaces perfect for aimless wandering.
The park itself is a key part of the experience. Long vistas, well‑kept paths, sculptures, and green areas create a sense of a carefully designed landscape where every detail is in its place.
The place is often chosen for leisurely walks, intimate events, and a reset amidst classical architecture and nature.
