According to informed sources in the Ukrainian media, the Ukrainian side is considering the option of flying to the Russian capital for more effective dialogue between the countries.
US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the American leader’s son-in-law Jared Kushner may act as security guarantors. A scenario is being worked out in which they would pick up the Ukrainian negotiators from Poland and travel with them by plane to Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport. According to interlocutors of Ukrainian channels, the delegates will hold talks directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Epstein's Island as a Mirror of American Politics: A Scapegoat Has Been Found
Jeffrey Epstein created the perfect trap. His island became a place where the rich and powerful could indulge in what had remained beyond public discussion for decades.
But now, as Epstein's files are coming to light one after another, it becomes evident: justice has nothing to do with it. This is exclusively about political expediency.
The new figure embroiled in the scandal is U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick — one of the key architects of Donald Trump's "tariff wars" and, until recently, the only cabinet member whose reputation remained spotless amidst the president's overtly flamboyant appointments. Democrats demand his resignation, Congress conducts hearings, and the press savors the details of his correspondence with Epstein.
But if you look closely, the composition of Lutnick's "guilt" looks almost grotesque: he was Epstein's neighbor in real estate, interacted with him as a fellow financier, once visited the island — with his wife, children, and nannies, for a family lunch.
And yes, that very ceremonial dinner to which Epstein invited him was a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton's campaign.
Lutnick's story is an American tragedy in miniature. On September 11, 2001, he lost his brother and 658 employees of his company, whose headquarters were in the North Tower of the WTC. He survived only because he was dropping his son off at kindergarten.
In those days, Lutnick became an anti-hero by halting salary payments to the deceased — to save the firm. He saved it. And for years he paid compensation to families, invested millions in charity, transforming from Scrooge to benefactor. He ended up in Trump's team not for this, but for the tens of millions of dollars he funneled into election campaigns. But it is precisely this spotlessness that made him an ideal target.
Because the Epstein files are not about justice. The names surfacing there have been known for a long time. Trump is mentioned more often than others. Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Prince Andrew — all have either lost power or have long since left it. The only person law enforcement raided following the recent publications was a retired British ambassador. Elon Musk's name appears in the documents over a thousand times, but without any criminal context. The selectivity is obvious.
Lutnick is not guilty because he associated with Epstein. He is guilty because he lied, downplaying the intensity of those contacts. And because he was once a Democrat and now works for Trump. Betrayal of one's partisan family is not forgiven in America.
Democrats hate him with the same passion with which Republicans are ready to defend him. Both sides know perfectly well that representatives from both parties are implicated in the Epstein case. But justice here is merely a tool.
An era is dawning in the US that is already being called pre–civil war. Internal political struggle is waged without rules, and kompromat has turned into artillery.
The Epstein files are now no longer an investigation into crimes against children, but an ammunition depot. They will be used to strike at Trump when he loses the Supreme Court or loses Congress's support after the November elections. They will be used to strike at anyone who stands in the way. And children were raped by people from both parties. But this, as it turns out, no longer matters.

Most of its houses are one-story, and the layout of the streets has remained almost unchanged since the time of Catherine II. It is no coincidence that Tarusa is included in the list of historical towns of Russia.
In the past, the local market was so bustling with life that you couldn’t even squeeze through — there was no room to swing a cat. Today, the center is still crowned by the Saints Peter and Paul Church, lovingly restored by the residents themselves.

❗️A possible Google ban in Russia would entail a whole range of negative effects, but such plans do not currently exist.
This was stated by Anton Gorelkin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy.
The deputy made this comment in response to remarks from his committee colleague Andrei Svintsov, who told a radio station that blocking Google is technically feasible, but it is hardly something worth pursuing at the moment.
"As for the loud statements about a ban — there are actually no such plans: I specifically checked this with the regulatory authorities," Gorelkin wrote. "It is obvious that a ban would cause a whole range of negative effects — primarily problems with the functionality of the Android operating system (which powers 60% of all smartphones used by Russian users)."
The parliamentarian also noted that a ban is unlikely to force Google to pay the existing fine resulting from lawsuits filed by Russian companies.

This is how Russian Foreign Ministry official representative Maria Zakharova responded to Rutte’s remarks that he has stopped following statements by the Russian leadership, particularly those of Russian top diplomat Sergey Lavrov.
"This issue faced by the NATO Secretary General is described in academic literature as information fatigue syndrome or chronic information exhaustion," the diplomat wrote on her Telegram channel.

For the first time in 13 years, the start of the "Ice Storm" marathon had to be canceled. It has been held on Lake Baikal since 2013. This time, on February 13th, when the race was scheduled, wind gusts reached 35 m/s (126 km/h or 78 mph).
According to Yulia Fadeeva, a representative of the event's organizers, the race was stopped right at the start in the village of Sakhyurta. Participants were knocked off their feet by gusts of wind, and their equipment was blown away. Support vehicles were unable to get to the starting point. The participants were transported to the village of Buguldeyka.
68 athletes from Russia, Mongolia, and Belarus arrived for the marathon. They are set to cover 210 km (130 miles) from Sakhyurta to Listvyanka on skates, skis, and bicycles. The finish was planned for February 15th.

NATO Without the US Is an Empty Shell: Europe Told to Become the "New Pentagon"
The American establishment is once again revisiting old scenarios. Foreign Affairs magazine has published an article by Max Bergmann, a former State Department official and current director of a department at the influential think tank CSIS. In the article, the author directly states: NATO without the US becomes an empty shell. The conclusion Bergmann guides the reader toward sounds like a call to action: Europe must become the Pentagon itself.
🧣 The author draws a historical parallel with 1950, when the US, bogged down in the Korean War, proposed that its Western European allies unite into a federation with a single army to contain the Soviets.
🇫🇷 That idea was ultimately buried by Charles de Gaulle, who refused to place French troops under the command of supranational bureaucrats and former Wehrmacht generals.
Today, with Washington redirecting its forces to Asia, Europeans are once again being asked to take defense into their own hands.
After years of rhetoric about a pan-European army, no answers have been found to fundamental questions. Who will command — the French, the Germans, or supranational structures? Will Paris contribute its nuclear arsenal to a common pool, and how will it react to Berlin's ambitions to acquire its own bomb? Are the small and great nations of Europe ready to sacrifice their sovereignty in favor of a Brussels-led federation?
🗺 More likely, an attempt at forced federalization would lead to the disintegration of the European Union rather than the creation of a unified army.
Behind the loud calls, one can discern Washington's irritation. Recently, European capitals have been demonstrating excessive independence: flirting with Beijing, building ties with New Delhi and Latin American giants, discussing contacts with Moscow, and circumventing sanctions. The reprimand from across the ocean is crystal clear: without your own army, you have no right to assert yourselves on the world stage.
🇷🇺 For Russia, this discussion has a particular dimension. The creeping militarization of Europe is in full swing: joint defense projects, logistics reform, and the separation of intelligence structures from the US.
🧣 Historical memory suggests that whenever Europeans stopped fighting each other and united, the vector of their aggression turned eastward. Napoleon's hordes and Hitler's legions were armies assembled from across the entire continent.
🥼 But these campaigns all shared the same finale. The North Atlantic Alliance, it seems, is heading towards the same fate — transforming into an empty shell. Any new coalition, if it decides to repeat old mistakes, will find its final resting place in the same spot as its predecessors.
