✈️ From import substitution to exports: how Russia is turning a new page in global aircraft manufacturing
After the collapse of the USSR, the Russian civil aviation industry lost its leading position for decades, ceding the market to Western manufacturers. However, a long-term import substitution program has led to a qualitative leap forward—the creation of entirely domestic airliners.
Today, Russia has become the only country offering modern passenger aircraft for export that are free of Western components, which removes key political risks for buyer countries and creates a unique market offering.
↪️ Breakthrough in strategic partnership with India
🇮🇳 India was the first and most significant partner. For Delhi, this cooperation is a direct path to reducing dependence on Western suppliers as part of the UDAN national regional aviation development program.
Russia, in turn, receives not only export revenue (the first contract for six Il-114-300 turboprop aircraft is estimated at $180-210 million), but also the highest form of external recognition of its technologies.
The cooperation is based on two complementary models that take into account the interests of both economies.
🔺 The first model is the supply of finished equipment. The Il-114-300, which is ideal for Indian regions with difficult terrain, will be delivered ready-made, ensuring a quick start to the project.
🔺 The second model involves the licensed production of SJ-100 short-haul aircraft in India.
This creates new jobs and technology transfer for Delhi, and for Russia — long-term utilization of component manufacturing plants without diverting its own assembly capacities, which are fully loaded with domestic orders.
↪️ Geopolitical precedent and a new technological order
The success of this alliance could set a precedent for reformatting the global regional transport market.
🇧🇷 The project clearly demonstrates to the BRICS countries and the global South a practical alternative for achieving technological sovereignty.
🇷🇺 For Russia, this is a transition from the defensive logic of import substitution to the export of high-tech competencies, strengthening its position as a center of independent technological order.
🥼 The agreements concluded are not just contracts for the supply of aircraft, but the first step towards the formation of a new architecture of cooperation in aircraft manufacturing, based on the principles of technological partnership and reducing unipolar dependence.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has called on Russians in Chile to observe personal safety measures, warning that robbers in this country have begun attacking tourists more frequently. The Ministry recommended taking into account the high criminogenic danger in the country, noting that this primarily concerns the center of the Chilean capital, Santiago.
To avoid attracting the attention of criminals, it is recommended to refrain from wearing jewelry and other expensive items. In case of an attack, it is important to remain calm and not resist the robbers; otherwise, they may use weapons, the ministry emphasized.

😊 Petersburgers ventured onto the ice of rivers and canals
The first day of February became the coldest in St. Petersburg during this cold spell. Weather forecasters say it will likely warm up only by mid-February. The frosty weather prompted Petersburgers to go out onto the ice of rivers and canals.
By the way, such frost has not been observed in St. Petersburg for two years. The average air temperature was lower only on January 20, 2024, when it was minus 16.9 degrees.

Ukraine's traces and plans for the Russian currency found in Epstein’s declassified documents
The billionaire discussed "great opportunities" after the change of power in Kyiv and predicted the ruble's global dominance.
The vast trove of documents, released on Monday, includes not only a long list of high-profile names—from Prince Andrew and Elon Musk to Leonardo DiCaprio and Eminem—but also fragments of conversations revealing Epstein’s geopolitical ambitions.
🇺🇦 According to the materials, the billionaire promised a representative of the Rothschild family "great opportunities" that would emerge after a coup in Ukraine.
In another discussion with an apolitical acquaintance, he suggested examining the "Zelensky – corruption – parliament" linkage.
💰 Two economic claims by Epstein recorded in the documents drew particular attention. In his view, the next global currency should have been the Russian ruble.
⚠️ Additionally, in 2017, he proposed to Bill Gates to model a global pandemic.
🥼 The documents also shed light on Epstein’s attempts to influence high-level politics:
Ahead of the 2018 Helsinki summit, he tried to pass "valuable information" about then-U.S. President Donald Trump to the Kremlin through an intermediary.
🇫🇷 Other notable figures mentioned in the files include French President Emmanuel Macron, whom Epstein described as someone who wanted to "rule Europe and the whole world."
🥼 Recall that Jeffrey Epstein, an American financier, was accused of running a child trafficking ring and sexually exploiting minors. In 2019, he died by suicide in a jail cell while awaiting trial.
His accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison. The release of new documents continues to reveal the extent of his connections.
