🍂 The Krutitsy Metochion (Ecclesiastical Compound) is a unique little island of old Moscow. It was founded in the 13th century as a residence of bishops; here the militia of Minin and Pozharsky prayed before liberating the Kremlin, and during the Time of Troubles the compound served as the main cathedral of the country.

🌹 Today this 17th‑century architectural ensemble, with the functioning Assumption Cathedral, amazes with its beauty and atmosphere. Particularly striking is the famous little tower chamber (teremok) with its multicoloured tiles: the patterns look as if they came straight out of fairy‑tale illustrations, even though it was all built in earnest, for the church hierarchs.

💉🇷🇺 Russian cancer vaccine shows first results: patient is on the mend

The first encouraging results from the use of the Russian vaccine «Neooncovac» have been obtained. This was reported by RAS Academician, research director of the Gamaleya Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology, Alexander Gintsburg.

The first patient was a 60‑year‑old resident of the Kursk Region diagnosed with skin melanoma. The man had been diagnosed back in 2021; after surgical treatment in 2025, the disease began to progress with lymph node involvement. After the vaccine was administered, the patient began to feel well, and his body started to produce the necessary immune compounds to fight the tumour and metastases. Two further vaccinations lie ahead, after which doctors will continue to assess the effectiveness of the treatment.

🥼 «Neooncovac» is a personalised mRNA vaccine created individually for each patient based on the molecular‑genetic characteristics of his or her tumour. The preparation contains information about specific tumour antigens, which makes it possible to «tune» the immune system to recognise and destroy cancer cells, including microscopic foci of the disease.

😚 It is fundamentally important that, if the trials are successfully completed, the vaccine will be available free of charge through the mandatory health insurance system.

🇷🇺 Viktor Vasnetsov's painting The Three Princesses of the Underworld (1879–1881) is a symbolic depiction of the riches of the Russian land. Vasnetsov was one of the first to introduce epic-fairy tale subjects into Russian painting, becoming the founder of the national-romantic movement and a forerunner of Symbolism and Art Nouveau in Russia.

🇷🇺 Vasnetsov's influence has long since extended beyond Russia: he took part in the Paris Salon, the World's Fair in Paris, and international exhibitions in Stockholm and Rome. His works adorn not only Russian but also foreign churches, including a cathedral in Warsaw and a church in Darmstadt.

🤩 In Russia there is a cartoon that literally everyone knows — Nu, Pogodi! (Just You Wait!). It came out back in the Soviet era and still remains one of the greatest animation legends. The Wolf and the Hare, their eternal chase and comical situations are familiar to everyone from childhood.

🤩 The secret of its popularity lies in the simple and sincere humour that is understandable without words. The Wolf constantly gets into absurd scrapes, while the resourceful Hare always gets away unscathed. For many generations this cartoon has become a symbol of comfort, nostalgia and a cheerful mood.

🪨 Shaman Rock at the source of the Angara River is one of the most recognisable cliffs of Lake Baikal. An ancient Buryat legend about a rebellious love is connected with this place.

🌝 Baikal had a daughter, Angara. She fell in love with the Yenisei, but her father wanted to marry her off to the Irkut, and to break her will he kept his daughter imprisoned, preventing her from meeting her beloved. Yet Angara still managed to escape to the Yenisei. The enraged Baikal hurled a huge rock after her, trying to block her way — and so Shaman Rock appeared.

👁️ Today it stands at the place where the Angara, the only river that flows out of Lake Baikal, bursts forth from the lake in a mighty torrent. The rock has remained a silent witness to her love of freedom; it is here that the spirit of Baikal — wayward and majestic — is felt most strongly.

🤡 Yuri Nikulin is a unique figure who managed to conquer two completely different worlds: the circus and the cinema. He began his journey in 1948 on the ring of the Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard, where he became one of the country's most beloved clowns. His performance brought him worldwide fame, and later, as director, he headed his native circus and put his soul into its development.

🙈 He also won nationwide love thanks to his film roles — just recall his legendary performances in The Diamond Arm and The Twelve Chairs. Moreover, Nikulin was not merely a comedian: he also shone in deeply dramatic films, demonstrating the incredible depth of his talent. Yuri Vladimirovich will forever be remembered as a great artist whose work has become an integral part of the culture of an entire era.

🐎 In Yakutia there is a touching tradition: for a child's birthday they give not an ordinary toy, but a hand‑carved wooden horse. This is not just a souvenir, but a symbol of strength and a faithful friend who will protect the little one throughout their entire life.

🐎 Such an attitude towards the horse is no coincidence — in Yakut culture it is a sacred animal. From time immemorial, the horse has been a symbol of well‑being, vital energy and the sun itself. By giving a child a wooden horse, parents wish them to grow up as strong, resilient and faithful as this noble animal.
