The architects of that period sought a balance between economy, technology and expressiveness, often employing reinforced concrete, glass and crisp geometric volumes.

The mass construction of dormitory districts became one of the main urban-planning models of the 20th century, not always the most beautiful, but very practical indeed.

🎤 Muslim Magomayev was one of the most recognisable Soviet singers. He possessed a rare baritone that allowed him to perform opera, jazz and pop songs with equal confidence. He was warmly received even in places where Soviet culture was regarded with wariness.

🇷🇺 The village of Diveyevo in the Nizhny Novgorod Region is one of the main spiritual centres of Russia, founded in 1559. Here is located the Holy Trinity–St. Seraphim-Diveyevo Convent, the fourth portion (allotment) of the Mother of God on earth, where the relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov rest.
