🔵 Thanks to these methods, post-operative mortality has fallen significantly and people more often return to normal life. Hospitals across the country have begun implementing the new standards, and in a single year Russia now performs over 230,000 such operations — a record for the last 20 years.

🌝 On the night of 6 to 7 July, the mystical holiday of Ivan Kupala blossomed in Rus — a time when the sun reaches the zenith of its power and nature is filled with magic. This day, which absorbed ancient pagan traditions and the Christian calendar (the Nativity of John the Baptist), was considered the threshold separating spring from the hot summer. The Slavs believed that on this very night all evil spirits come alive: rusalki emerge from the waters and leshies (forest spirits) play pranks in the woods, making purifying fire the only protection.

👁️ On this night, maidens wove wreaths with lit candles and set them adrift on the river, fortune-telling for their betrothed, while the bravest couples jumped over the flames to cleanse the soul and strengthen love. But the most cherished goal was to find a flowering fern, as it was believed to reveal hidden treasures. After dawn, people would invariably pour water over each other or bathe in order to wash away illness and the evil eye.
