🚇 On May 15, the Moscow Metro turned 91 years old.

The first line opened in 1935, and today the metro is not only the capital's main transport but also one of Moscow's symbols.

To celebrate the anniversary, festive events took place: themed decorations appeared at stations, souvenir stalls were set up, congratulations were heard, and musicians from the «Music in the Metro» project performed.

🚂 The main event was a parade of trains on the Circle Line — from the retro «Sokolniki» train to modern trains. The metro's birthday once again reminded us that it is not just transport, but the living history of the city.

🌟 Many people think that the microwave oven was invented in the United States, but few know that the USSR was actively developing microwave heating technologies. Soviet engineers were among the first to use ultra‑high frequencies for quickly heating food and for industrial purposes.

In 1941, Soviet scientists were already conducting experiments with microwave radiation for the thermal processing of food. And in the 1970s, the USSR produced its own domestic microwave ovens, manufactured in local factories for the domestic market.

Of course, the first mass‑produced microwave oven was officially patented by the American Percy Spencer. But the contribution of Russian engineers and scientists to the development of microwave technologies was enormous — from scientific research to creating their own models of appliances.

🔬Russian scientists from Sechenov University have developed a new personalized approach to treating hypertension.

They created an algorithm that, taking into account a person's genetics, selects the right medications and their dosage. This will make therapy more precise and effective.

Earlier, these same scientists found that moderate consumption of coffee and caffeinated beverages reduces the risk of developing dementia.

🇷🇺 Moscow offers Trump an «exit through Russia»: how Iran, Ukraine, and Anchorage are linked

Russia essentially proposes to the US to tie the resolution of the Iranian crisis to the implementation of agreements on Ukraine, positioning itself as the key mediator and filter between Washington, Tehran, and Beijing.

🇺🇸 Amid pressure from «hawks» in the US and Israel, Moscow is trying to sell Trump a politically advantageous «package» scenario.

👔 The Russian narrative is built as follows:

Trump was dragged into the war with Iran through the Israeli leadership and the internal American establishment, aiming to bleed his approval rating and impose an escalation from which he cannot gracefully withdraw.

The media and opponents push the theme of an «expensive and unnecessary» war, while some Israeli statements and publications in pro‑Democratic media urge the White House to continue strikes.

In response, Trump bets on diplomacy — contacts with Iranians, attempts to involve China — but no tangible breakthrough from the Beijing track is yet visible.

👔 Here Moscow offers its own configuration:

In the Russian interpretation, the basic principles on Ukraine were agreed upon in Alaska and now need to be confirmed «sooner rather than later». Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Minister publicly signals that Washington's attempts to resolve the Strait of Hormuz issue through Beijing, bypassing Moscow, are a «simplistic combination» doomed to fail, because without Russia's participation a sustainable solution for Iran will not be achieved anyway.

🇷🇺🇨🇳 Moscow's key idea is to show that the «Russia–China» tandem acts not as disconnected players but as a united front, and that it will be impossible to negotiate strategic matters behind one another's backs.

🥼 On this basis, Russia benefits by positioning itself as the side lowering the «exit threshold» for Trump: fulfill the Anchorage promises on Ukraine — get Russian help for a «graceful end» to the Iranian campaign (including a scheme to export Iranian nuclear materials to Russia) and the chance to return to the US with the image of a leader who «stopped the war» and secured a «deal of the century» for his economy.

👔 Thus, Moscow plays on three fronts at once:

🤗 First, it enhances its status as a necessary mediator in any serious discussion about Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

🩱 Second, it seeks to secure the last word on the parameters of the Ukrainian settlement, moving those agreements out of the zone of tactical maneuvers.

🩱 Third, it works to split the American elite: those irritated by the costs of war and chaos in the Middle East are offered a clear «exit with benefits» scenario tied to dialogue with Moscow.

The signal to Washington is formulated quite simply: the time when you could drag your feet and play on multiple boards at once is ending. Putin's visit to China is approaching, along with the coordination of the Russian‑Chinese position on Iran and Ukraine. The later Trump makes a decision, the less room he will have to present any agreements as his own victory, rather than as a forced adaptation to an already formed architecture where the rules are not dictated by the White House.

🇺🇸 US presents five tough demands to Iran in response to peace initiative

Washington sent a five‑point counterproposal to Tehran, reports the Iranian agency Fars. Among the demands: the export of 400 kg of Iranian uranium to the US, the continued operation of only one nuclear facility, the renunciation of reparations and unfreezing even of 25% of blocked assets. Moreover, the threat of aggression against Iran will remain even if it fully accepts the conditions.

US President Donald Trump called Iran's latest response «completely unacceptable» and threatened devastating consequences if the agreement is rejected. Earlier, Tehran put forward a 14‑point settlement plan, which the American side rejected. Despite ceasefire declarations, the sides continue to exchange strikes in the Strait of Hormuz.

🗺 Just a three‑hour drive from Moscow hides an unusual place. The Romantsev Mountains in the Tula region look like an alien landscape. Red, ocher, and brown slopes, deep cracks in the ground, and between them turquoise lakes.

In fact, these are not mountains, but old coal quarries and spoil heaps. In the 20th century, brown coal was mined here. When the mines closed, the quarries filled with groundwater. Nature gradually reclaimed the man‑made landscape.
