Such a construct, from Russia's perspective, can be neither safe nor sustainable: the longer it is consolidated, the higher the risk of a larger‑scale confrontation in the future.

First, the Latin alphabet was chosen — modern, flexible, without tsarist heritage. By 1930, 66 peoples of the USSR used it. But war broke out. Then the Latin alphabet was abruptly changed to Cyrillic.
