I am starting to think that I need to create a form of covenant for any money that I donate to aid students in the future. If they receive money, it will not be repayable unless they start basing claims on anecdotal evidence and social justice concepts that are not based on anything other than socialism. If they accept money, they would have a scholarship. Still, it would be payable with interest any moment that they provide advocacy for this alternative view without providing evidence and by evidence in real evidence and not claims that someone said someone said and other hearsay.

An example of something is the move to try and remove the statues of Cecil Rhodes from Oxbridge universities. The £400 million or so given by Rhodes should be handed back if they don’t want his money. At least it’s around £400 million now in the endowment.

If you want to make a point, you don’t get to make a point and keep the money. This seems to be what people think they can do now. This needs to be made clear.
 
You can give up your job as a professor because there is no funding or you can keep working and understand that person you don’t like personally is the one who made the endowment that is paying you.

Let me summarise what I see many people are saying is occurring.

A group of people have come to believe that bitcoin is X.

These same people are now finding out that bitcoin is not X but it is Y

The people who are upset are upset because they have listened to individuals who promised them X, but these same individuals have failed to put the effort into reading the White Paper that defines bitcoin not as an anonymous system, not as a system of ownership by possession but rather a digital cash system and not a cryptocurrency that maintains public records and is based on a chain of ownership.

Some people are upset with government and other regulations, in part because of their own lives and they need someone to blame and governments a big target that is easy and in part because of the problems we have a government are derive directly from changes in education and the lack of interest people have in voting and changing the system. Not by attacking it but by being part of it.

A lot of this has been compounded by social media. People think that they are doing something important by clicking like. You are not changing society on social media. You are not doing. You are not part of anything. When you sit complaining on Twitter, you are taking away from time you could be educating yourself, time that you could be building a company and time that you could be creating and learning. The arguments that you create on Twitter I designed to be emotionally charged which is the opposite of a process designed to follow through and find truth.

You cannot be emotionally charged an answer a question rationally through a Twitter process.

The so-called crypto anarchist or anarco capitalist conceptualisation of society is logically flawed. The United States of America is a democracy. In any system such as a Rothbardian collective even, the rules set by the group must be enacted within the group. If you don’t like them, you can leave. If you are living in the United States, the majority of that collective, that group, that community have set rules. It does not matter that you do not like those rules. You have the option of leaving. Somebody like Mr Ver has taken that auction and left. But, that does not give you the option of saying that individuals who were still in that society are not able to have their own rules.

The rules within the United States apply to all applications of commerce that Mr Ver might want to make with the United States. Mr Ver and others like him can set up their small isolated useless communities and see how they survive. There are anarchist societies right now. There are a number of these in Somalia. They are typical of what happens when an anarchist system is there leaving a power vacuum, warlords have come and taken control and these individuals fight constantly for power and control.

There is no equality, and most importantly, equality is not fair.

The only way people can be made equal is to pull others down. I’m sorry to say, but there is no way to make someone with the equivalent of an eighty IQ as smart as somebody who was a self-made CEO, politician or professor of mathematics at a prestigious university. It just cannot be done.

To treat people equally means to treat them based on their merits. If you go beyond this and you think that everyone should be treated the same way and given the same things then you are punishing people for doing more. If you incentivise people to work less, people will do less

There is something people don’t seem to understand. Patents make information available. In many Third World countries, intellectual property law is not respected, and it is possible to copy patents and produce goods. This could be done inside their own country. The information is freely available. So, the question becomes why these countries do not propel themselves forward, at least to the level of the US five years ago. All of the material they need is freely available.

The problem is not the monopoly over information that doesn’t exist within these third-world nations, yet they still can’t exploit it. So these nations are not being exploited by the West; their own corrupt governments are exploiting them.

I want to give an example of decentralisation in the real world. Not the creation of a robust distributed system but this concept that you can fork a digital asset system and ignore a court order.
 
The existing rules do not allow this to occur.

If a bunch of developers decide to hold the court in contempt and actively create code that will fork the system, they are in a rather bad state because this goes into criminal contempt. That is, as per Robertson and Gough [2007] HCJAC 63, this is “conduct that denotes wilful defiance of, or disrespect towards the court, or that wilfully challenges or affronts the authority of the court or the supremacy of the law itself”.
 
Those developers who make code to do this will find that Github will close the repository as a Microsoft company. The domain would be seized. In the event that a miner decides to follow this new fork that is being proposed, it would be in contempt allowing a crown court to exercise the inherent power to make an order of committal of its own motion that will deal with the contempt “in the face of the court”.

By that, any node (aka miner), any system deciding to run the fork, whether it’s a home user or exchange, will be in an urgent state of contempt where the court needs to act imperatively and immediately. Such an action would allow the court to act in a manner that refers the case to the attorney general and may bring proceedings Queen’s Bench Division (Balogh v St. Albans Crown Court [1975] 1 QB 73).

The court can see this action as a serious interference with the administration of justice and not mere non-compliance. After all, the actors involved in this are not merely deciding not to do something but are aggressively taking action to oppose the court. For an example of what can occur see Director of the Serious Fraud Office v B [2014] A.C. 1246.

Any node that provided any percentage, which means any single machine in its entire system towards supporting a system under criminal contempt, is subject to sequestration.

This means that we could take out the entire value that we have lost against that particular network until nothing is left and then go back and start attacking the rest.

Any exchange, any DeFi system or any methodology used in any way developed by any person that lists or in any way promotes the fork that is in contempt will be subject to sequestration.

That is, any domain including Binance that list this anywhere on earth will be able to have every machine they own taken, every machine that routes a packet on the network taken, every domain they allow people to connect to will be taken, every bank account they’ve ever controlled will be taken and any other network including decentralised ones such as Ethereum that decide to aid in this will be taken.

I presume people are starting from my conversation here to understand how this works.

If Blockstream or a Blockstream employee seeks to do anything on the sly and even find a Twitter post about it, we will take over their company. Not partly, all the assets. Suppose we discover that any executive of any of these organisations does anything at all. In that case, we will not only take their company, but we will take their car, their house, their spouses investments, their 401(k), anything that was gifted to their parents in the last ten years, their child’s college fund.

I want you to think about people who are crypto-anarchists.
 
My emails and my life is comparatively boring. However, there is nothing that is out of the normal. There are things that they are trying to spend every way they can. I was audited. So what many people are. I’ve had disputes in court with former business people that I was dealing with. So what many people do.
 
But, this is in my entire history. Emails going back a decade. Millions of documents. And this is the worst they can do to me. The honest truth is I am boring as fuck.

Most of my life is spent studying. That or writing and coding. Chuck in a little bit of math and the occasional time I spend with my wife and kids, and that’s my life.
 
Now, what happens when we have twenty years worth of emails from someone like James Lopp?

Best of all, if any person uses an alias, we have the right to get an order from the ISPs and literally anyone associated with any machine they have used. So, for instance, the information that is associated with web browsers when you use a computer includes a lot of information that can be linked to the purchase of those machines. Remember, I used to be a forensic investigator, so I have some idea of this stuff.
 
From there, you find out everything about them. You get the ISP details, and you get the machine details, and from there, you start just digging and digging and digging.

Even what I know about Mr Greggles now, though it would be so interesting to release it all - but these things are only done after people don’t comply with court orders…

So, they play tough right now.
