During a heatwave experiment, two genetically modified mouse strains were studied:

Strain A lacked the TRPV1 (Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 1) channel, primarily responsible for sensing noxious heat.

Strain B had a deletion in the HSP70 gene family, preventing the expression of major heat-shock proteins.

Both strains and a control group were exposed to a gradual increase in ambient temperature from 25°C to 45°C, followed by a recovery phase at 25°C. The following observations were recorded:

Control mice maintained body temperature near 37°C and recovered normally.

Strain A displayed delayed activation of cutaneous vasodilation and sweating, resulting in transient hyperthermia but eventual recovery.

Strain B maintained normal thermoeffector responses initially but showed severe cellular damage in the liver, brain, and skeletal muscle upon histological examination after recovery.

Based on these findings, which of the following statements best explains the combined physiological and molecular basis of thermoregulation in these mice?

Options:
A. TRPV1 channels function as direct effectors of heat dissipation, while HSP70 proteins act as peripheral thermosensors in the skin.
B. TRPV1 channels mediate the detection of elevated temperature and trigger central thermoregulatory responses, whereas HSP70 proteins prevent protein denaturation and assist in cellular recovery under heat stress.
C. HSP70 proteins initiate hypothalamic vasodilatory signaling, and TRPV1 acts downstream to stabilize intracellular protein conformation.
D. Both TRPV1 and HSP70 are redundant molecular systems that independently regulate evaporative cooling in mammals.
