Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure in Ukraine and Russia: May 29-30, 2024 CIT Volunteer Summary
Over the last 24 hours, at least 2 civilians were killed and 36 others were injured as a result of strikes.
In the Sumy region, one person was wounded in a mortar strike on the Seredyna-Buda community.
In the Kharkiv region, one civilian sustained injuries in an attack on the village of Kolisnykivka. Seven residents were injured in a large-scale missile strike on the city of Kharkiv. Five people were wounded in an airstrike on the village of Ruska Lozova. One person sustained injuries in an attack on the village of Yurchenkove.
In the Kherson region, two people were injured due to the shelling of the village of Bilozerka. One resident was killed in a strike on the village of Veletenske.
In the occupied territories of the Donetsk region, one person was wounded by the detonation of an anti-personnel mine in the city of Donetsk.
In the Belgorod region, Russia, a series of UAV attacks resulted in several civilian casualties across multiple locations. One person sustained injuries in the village of Zamoste. One resident was wounded in the village of Gruzskoye. One civilian was killed and 11 others were injured in the village of Zozuli. One person sustained injuries in the village of Belyanka.

Over the last 24 hours, at least 16 civilians were killed and 57 others were injured as a result of strikes.
In the Kharkiv region, one person was wounded in an airstrike on the town of Vovchansk. One civilian was killed and one other sustained injuries in an attack on the village of Novoosynove. Six people were killed and 25 others, including two children, were wounded in a large-scale missile attack on the city of Kharkiv. Two residents were injured in a strike on the village of Shostakove.
In the Donetsk region, one person was wounded in an airstrike on the village of Pivnichne. Two residents were injured due to the shelling of the town of Krasnohorivka. One civilian was killed and three others were wounded in an attack on the village of Drobysheve.

The Russian offensive in the northern part of the Kharkiv region, which began in May, has led to a sharp increase in civilian casualties.
According to data collected by CIT volunteers in summaries on Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure in Ukraine and Russia, the number of civilian deaths rose by more than a quarter over the month (220 in April and 282 in May), and the number of injured increased by nearly a third (1,071 in April and 1,386 in May). This surge was primarily due to numerous Russian missile and air-bomb strikes on Ukrainian cities, particularly Kharkiv. Additionally, there has been an increase in attacks on the Belgorod region and UAV attacks on civilian vehicles, a tactic used by both sides near the Russia-Ukraine border.
