Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure in Ukraine and Russia: Dec. 8-9, 2025 CIT Volunteer Summary
Over the past 24 hours, at least 9 civilians were killed and 50 others were injured as a result of strikes.
In the Sumy region, one person was killed in a UAV attack on a civilian car in the Myropillia rural community. A driver was killed and one passenger was injured in a UAV strike on a civilian vehicle in the Krasnopillia rural community.
In the Kharkiv region, one civilian was injured due to the shelling of the village of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. Two people were wounded in an airstrike on the village of Kurylivka. One resident was killed in an attack on the city of Kupiansk. One civilian sustained injuries due to the shelling of the village of Kivsharivka.
In the Donetsk region, one person was killed and five others were wounded in a wave of UAV attacks on the town of Druzhkivka. One resident was injured in a series of UAV strikes on the village of Serhiivka.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, two civilians sustained injuries in a series of artillery strikes and UAV attacks on the city of Nikopol.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, three people were wounded in a series of UAV strikes on civilian cars in the Zaporizhzhia district.
In the Kherson region, one resident was killed in a UAV attack on the town of Beryslav. A motorcyclist was injured by the detonation of a land mine in the village of Kachkarivka. One person was wounded due to shelling, and another was injured in a UAV attack on the city of Kherson. A motorcyclist was wounded by a drone-dropped munition in the village of Urozhaine. One civilian was injured by a drone-dropped munition in the village of Antonivka.
In the occupied territories of the Donetsk region, one resident was wounded in a strike on the town of Pokrovsk.
In the occupied territories of the Kherson region, three children were injured in a wave of UAV attacks on the town of Henichesk.
In the Chuvashia region, Russia, 14 civilians, including a child, sustained injuries in a UAV strike on the city of Cheboksary.
Additionally, a number of new civilian casualties resulting from previous strikes have been reported. In the Donetsk region, two more people were killed in a UAV attack on the town of Druzhkivka on Dec. 7. One more resident was wounded in a strike on the town of Lyman on Dec. 7. Two civilians were killed and two others were wounded in a series of attacks on the town of Kostiantynivka on Dec. 8. Two people sustained injuries in an airstrike on the city of Kramatorsk on Dec. 8. In the Zaporizhzhia region, one more resident was injured in an airstrike on the city of Zaporizhzhia on Dec. 8. In the Kherson region, a postal worker sustained injuries in a UAV attack on the village of Bilozerka on Dec. 5. Two more civilians were injured due to the shelling of the city of Kherson on Dec. 6 and two others sustained injuries in a series of UAV attacks on Dec. 8.
