The easing of restrictions on the use of Western precision weapons against targets on Russian territory is saving lives.

In our new article, we discuss how the intensity of strikes on the Kharkiv region dropped significantly, and missile strikes on Kharkiv ceased altogether after the first HIMARS strike on a Russian SAM battery in the Belgorod region. We believe that lifting the remaining restrictions would reduce the frequency of air-dropped bomb strikes on Kharkiv.

Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure in Ukraine and Russia: July 1-2, 2024 CIT Volunteer Summary

Over the past 24 hours, at least 9 civilians were killed and 64 others were injured as a result of strikes.

In the Kharkiv region, four people were wounded in a series of airstrikes on the city of Kharkiv. One civilian sustained injuries in an airstrike on the village of Mali Prokhody.

In the Donetsk Region, one resident was killed and two others were injured in an airstrike on the town of Selydove. One person was killed and four others, including a child, were wounded in a strike on the village of Novodmytrivka. One resident sustained injuries in an airstrike on the village of Komar. Three people were injured in an attack on the village of Sukha Balka. Two residents were wounded in a strike on the village of Katerynivka. One person sustained injuries in an attack on the village of Kurakhivka. One resident was injured in a strike on the village of Niu-York. One person was wounded in an attack on the village of Zarichne.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, two civilians were killed and 10 others were injured in an attack combining shelling and UAV strikes on the city of Nikopol. Two people were killed in an artillery strike on the Pokrovska community.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, two people were wounded in a series of attacks on the Vasylivka district and the Polohy district.

In the Kherson region, one resident was killed and 11 others were injured in an MLRS strike on the city of Kherson. One person was wounded by a drone-dropped munition in the town of Beryslav. One civilian sustained injuries in an attack on the village of Tokarivka. One resident was injured in a strike on the village of Chervonyi Maiak. One person was wounded by the detonation of a land mine in the village of Charivne.

Over the past 24 hours, at least 13 civilians were killed and 110 others were injured as a result of strikes.

In the Kharkiv region, one person was injured during a strike on the settlement of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. One resident was killed and two others were injured as a result of an airstrike on the village of Borova. Five people were injured due to combined strikes on the village of Ruska Lozova. 14 people were wounded as a result of an airstrike on the city of Kharkiv.

In the Donetsk region, during strikes, one person was killed in the village of Niu-York, two civilians were injured in the town of Siversk. One resident was injured in the town of Hirnyk. One person was wounded in the village of Pivnichne, another was injured in the town of Chasiv Yar and two people were injured in the Toretsk urban community.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, five locals were killed and 53 others, including one child, were wounded due to combined strikes on the city of Dnipro. Two people were killed during the shelling of the Pokrov community. Two locals were injured in a missile attacks on a village in the region.

In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two others were injured during strikes on the city of Kherson. Three people were injured as a result of the shelling of the village of Pryozerne. Two locals were injured by detonation of an explosive device in a village in the region.

In the occupied territories of the Donetsk region, during strikes, two people were injured in the city of Donetsk, and two others were wounded in the city of Horlivka.

In the Poltava region, one person was killed and three others were wounded as a result of a strike on the region's gas infrastructure facilities.

Over the past 24 hours, at least 52 civilians were killed and 188 others were injured as a result of strikes.

In the Kyiv region, 27 people were killed and 82 others, including seven children, were wounded in a large-scale missile attack on the city of Kyiv. Two people were injured in a missile strike on one of the populated areas.

In the Kharkiv region, six people were killed when a civilian vehicle detonated an anti-tank mine in the village of Tsyrkuny. One person sustained injuries in an MLRS strike on the village of Kivsharivka. Two residents were wounded in an attack on the city of Kharkiv. One civilian was injured in a UAV strike on the village of Lyptsi.

In the Donetsk region, one resident was killed in a UAV attack on the village of Hrodivka. Two civilians were wounded in a strike on the village of Niu-York. Analysis of the Russian Missile Strike on the Okhmatdyt Hospital in Kyiv

On the morning of July 8, Russia launched a wave of missile strikes against cities across Ukraine, with Kyiv being one of the primary targets. Missiles and fragments of intercepted missiles hit several city districts. Specifically, the Shevchenkivskyi district experienced missile strikes on the Artem military plant and Okhmatdyt, the largest children’s hospital in the country. Unlike other strikes conducted on July 8, and more broadly in the two and a half years since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, a video of relatively good quality captured the moment of impact. As a result, we had a rare opportunity to examine the specific circumstances of the incident.
