The Iranian state media linked Prigozhin's rebellion to his Jewish roots.✡️✡️✡️

The conservative Kayhan newspaper, sponsored by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, published several articles about the speech started by businessman and founder of the Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin on June 24.

At least two notes in the Iranian edition mention Prigozhin's Jewish roots. "It is reported that the leader of this formation is Jewish and also during the battle for the town of Bakhmut he was suspected of negligence," says the first of them. The same note once again returns to the topic of the businessman's ethnicity by recounting his biography: "Prigozhin, who is said to be Jewish, was sentenced to 13 years in prison in Soviet times... After the collapse of the USSR he went into the restaurant business.

Another Kayhan piece mentioning the June 24 mutiny is a historical column titled "Bigger Traitors Than Jew Prigozhin. Its author cites several cases from Iranian history that he considers examples of betrayal - and stresses that some of the traitors, "like Prigozhin," were Jews.

Both pieces appear on the Persian version of the newspaper's website, while the English version does not touch on Prigozhin's origins. One of them, however, mentions that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is "a Khazar Jew-Nesemite with a strong tendency toward Zionism," and that the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, is an ethnic Tuvan.

The Times of Israel reported last year that the birth father and stepfather Yevgeny Prigozhin were Jewish by birth. Forbes earlier wrote that Prigozhin's stepfather, skiing coach Samuel Fridmanovich Zharkoy, helped him build the first hot-dog business in St. Petersburg in the early 1990s.

The English-language Wikipedia calls the Kayhan newspaper "the most conservative" in Iran. It is known to reflect the views of the fundamentalist core of the Iran, and its editor-in-chief is appointed personally by the Supreme Leader of Iran.

🇲🇽 Armed group in Mexico kidnaps 14 security ministry staff

Security forces in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas were searching on Tuesday for 14 state security ministry employees kidnapped by members of an armed group earlier in the day, authorities said.

The kidnapped employees, all men, were taken by members of the armed group on a highway about 22 miles (34.4 km) west of the state capital Tuxtla Gutierrez, the ministry said in a statement.

🇺🇸 Biden's Joint Chiefs chairman nominee accused of 'race-based' hiring in military by conservative group

A conservative watchdog group is accusing Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. of embracing race-based hiring and promotions in the military for the sake of "diversity."

Brown, the first Black man to lead any branch of the U.S. military, has been outspoken in his belief that the military should be proactive in elevating diverse candidates to key positions. His previous public statements that articulated his views provide ample ammunition for critics like AAF and Republican opponents of DEI policies to attack his nomination.

"All of us have to seek out those diverse candidates to bring them in. And that's what we're trying to do in the Air Force," Brown said in a 2020 interview with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. "It's – you almost got to purposely manage some of this. You can't let it – if you do it by happenstance, we won't change."
