Iranian engineers and specialists have successfully restored the South Pars industrial hub to its pre-war production capacity after an intensive, weeks-long repair operation, Fars News Agency reported on 27 May.
The restoration follows heavy damage sustained during recent US-Israeli military strikes on the Islamic Republic's strategic energy infrastructure in an effort to cripple the country’s ability to sustain its wartime economy.
According to reports from Fars, the rapid recovery effort focused on the utility and raw material pipelines located outside the primary petrochemical zone in the South Pars Special Economic Energy Zone.
Teams had reportedly completed extensive debris removal, reconstruction of damaged sections, and necessary system upgrades to bring the supply lines back into operation in less than a month.
The facility was most recently struck on 6 April, during a joint US-Israeli attack, marking the second time that the hub was targeted. An earlier wave of airstrikes in March had similarly damaged gas and petrochemical facilities along the corridor.
Local economic reports indicate that the completion of these repairs has successfully eliminated the industrial bottlenecks created by the strikes.
With all major supply lines now reportedly back online, the South Pars complexes have resumed full operations, returning the region's output to levels seen before the war began.

According to Czech President Petr Pavel, a full half of the Kiev-supporting Western coalition has quietly abandoned Prague's flagship initiative to jointly procure artillery ammunition for Ukraine's military.
Pavel said that while 18 countries participated last year, only nine are still making financial contributions now. "This initiative has been delivering up to 50 per cent of all large caliber ammunition to the Ukrainians, so in this sense it cannot be replaced easily by anything else," the FT on Tuesday quoted the Czech president as saying.
It's unclear precisely which precise countries have dropped participation, but reports indicate that Germany and some Scandinavian countries remain involved.
But the program is now teetering on life support as donor fatigue morphs into outright abandonment, and also as the Ukraine conflict has mostly slipped from driving world headlines, as attention has turned to the US-Israeli war in Iran instead, alongside the Hormuz Strait standoff and the global crude oil crisis
When Pavel first launched the initiative in 2024, 18 countries - including Canada, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands - enthusiastically led the way and jumped on board.
But he conceded this week, "The initiative is still working, but the new difficulty is that only about nine member states are contributing financially."
NATO officials have confirmed to Reuters that as of February, the scheme had only managed to crawl to €1.4 billion ($1.62 billion) in total funding, which is less than a third of the €5 billion Pavel originally projected.
Ukraine has struggled with persistent artillery deficits since early 2022, while Russia has been well supplied, and its frontline forces are able to fire at many times the rate of Ukrainian artillery units.
As for the Czech program, which involved officials scouring the globe to source immense supplies of badly needed artillery shells, one Western official bluntly told the Financial Times: "Some countries now feel that it is strange to pay for something that is not even properly supported by the ruling politicians of the lead country."

🇺🇸🇻🇪 The U.S. announces cooperation with Venezuela in the fight against drug trafficking
The U.S. Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, stated that Washington is strengthening its security strategy in the Western Hemisphere through greater coordination with governments in the region, including Venezuela, in the framework of operations against organizations linked to drug trafficking.
During recent statements, the official noted that the head of the U.S. Southern Command paid a visit to the U.S. embassy in Caracas, where, he indicated, he was received by Venezuelan authorities as part of a new phase of bilateral contacts.
Hegseth maintained that the U.S. administration seeks to expand regional cooperation in matters of security and the fight against cartels, describing the initiative as part of a hemispheric offensive against transnational criminal networks.

🇨🇿 Former MP Dominik Feri Released After Serving Two Years In Prison For Rape
The District Court in Teplice today approved the release on parole of former MP Dominik Feri, who has served two years of his three-year sentence for rape. The court imposed a three-year probationary period under supervision, and also ordered the defendant to apologise to the victims and participate in a suitable programme offered by the Probation and Mediation Service.
The lawyer representing the victims spoke out against the release, stating that no improvement of Feri had been proven, and the women were afraid and concerned.
The prison psychologist said that Feri’s personality was balanced, he had established social relations, and was not dangerous to society. She did not recommend keeping Feri in prison any longer.
In his closing statement, Feri said that upon his potential release, he would seek a way, through his lawyer, to address the women’s concerns. He stated that he had led a law-abiding life before entering prison and intended to continue doing so. “I dare to assert that my rehabilitation has been demonstrated,” he said.
The prosecutor said today the additional four months in prison had done Feri good. “You can see a shift compared to the last public proceedings, he has worked on himself,” said Langr, who suggested the supervision order following Feri’s release. He mentioned that the change in the convict’s attitude may be expedient, but it can be assumed that he would lead a law-abiding life.
The victims’ representative requested to supplement the evidence with a psychological evaluation, which the court rejected.
“I am very sorry for the harm the victims feel,” he said, adding that he would contact the women’s representative after his release to ask how he could alleviate their harm. “The lessons learned from the punishment were crucial,” he said. He also said there was nothing more he could do.

Rush claimed the funds and gold bars were needed for “work-related expenses,” including foreign currency and tens of millions of dollars in gold requested between November and March. Investigators say only part of the requested assets were found in storage near his office, while the rest was kept at his home for personal gain.
Rush was also accused of lying about his background for nearly two decades, falsely claiming degrees from Clemson University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, training at the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School, working as a Navy pilot, and serving as a thesis adviser at the Air Force Institute of Technology.
The case began after a CIA internal investigation uncovered possible legal violations and was referred by CIA Director John Ratcliffe for criminal investigation.
