If you are the strongest military in the world, why can’t you force Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz and let vitally needed commodities out to the rest of the world, including you?
What we've learned is we’re really not as powerful as we said we were.
That’s bad for us, but it’s also dangerous because it invites aggression. We need to fix that by being honest about what just happened.
No more lying.

Israel is your client state. This is like taking orders from your housekeeper, which you would never do. Why would you do that if you had self-respect?
Why can't the U.S. get its proxy, its client state, effectively its employee, Israel, under control? Why is that the one thing that's never on the table?
Why can’t this president or any president say no to Israel? We have a right to know why.
There are, believe it or not, a lot of people in the White House who care about the United States; they're not all whatever you think they are, zombies doing Bibi's bidding.
Some of them can see very clearly where this is heading. It's heading toward a nuclear strike by Israel on Iran — that's obvious. And that would be a world-historic disaster.

➡️ The site is an older complex of the defense industries, not a Missile City.
A site not selected by optimal geology, but by being close to the Parchin Defense Industries Complex
Given that the rock shielding the complex is just 40-50m thick at the craters and geology not optimal
➡️ penetration by bunker-busters hitting the same point simultaneously may have been possible
➡️ A scenario of several F-15E, utilizing terrain masking to get there and employing GBU-72's hitting the same point, is one explanation

• The Trump admin has been seeking a ceasefire for "weeks" - at least since March 21st - when Trump first threatened to destroy Iranian power plants
• Trump has been "worried" about oil prices and was "surprised" by Iranian resilience
• Admin officials believed Iran would be more likely to accept a ceasefire if it were delivered by a muslim-majority country, and enlisted Pakistan for this
• Ceasefire periods between two weeks and 45 days were floated
• The Iranians were willing to budge on limiting their uranium stockpile
• Araghchi and other Iranian officials involved in the negotiations had issues getting the IRGC onboard. Some elements of the IRGC were strongly opposed to any agreement
• At least one senior IRGC official would be included in the Iranian negotiating team

“France’s conduct over the past year—including initiatives aimed at limiting Israel’s ability to fight in Iran and a complete lack of willingness to take concrete steps to help Lebanon disarm Hezbollah—has led Israel to view France as an unfair mediator," an Israeli official said.

🇹🇼 🤝 🇨🇳 Taiwan opposition leader Cheng Li-wun to Chinese President Xi in Beijing:
Today... I deeply feel the concerned gaze of the entire world.
Kuomintang and the Communist Party to jointly promote the institutionalization of cross-strait peace.
Based on the common political foundation of adhering to the 1992 Consensus and opposing Taiwan independence, the two sides should further plan and construct institutional and sustainable dialogue and cooperation mechanisms.
To make the peaceful development of the two sides irreversible, and to fundamentally eliminate all root causes of conflict.

Iran is demanding fees from vessels it’s allowing to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait is effectively under full IRGC control.
They decide who gets to go through, but more importantly, who doesn’t.

✈️ 🇪🇺 🇮🇷 European airports face jet fuel shortages within three weeks
European airlines say they should have enough fuel for several weeks, but suppliers are unable to guarantee deliveries into May
Some Asian countries such as Vietnam have begun rationing jet fuel because of shortages, but Europe has so far not had widespread shortages, though fuel prices have doubled and airlines have warned about cancellations.
Despite US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a two-week ceasefire in the Iran war, global oil prices have remained high.
“A supply crunch would severely disrupt airport operations and air connectivity, with the risk of harsh economic impacts for the communities affected and for Europe in case of a systemic shortage of jet fuel.”

🛢 🇯🇵 🇮🇷 Japan to Release More State Oil Reserves
Japan will start releasing additional state oil reserves equivalent to about 20 days of domestic consumption as early as the beginning of May, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said Friday.
"We will ensure stable crude oil supplies," Takaichi said at a meeting of relevant cabinet ministers to discuss how to cope with the fallout from the ongoing Middle Eastern crisis.
The decision comes as it remains uncertain whether oil tankers can safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz even after the United States and Iran agreed on a ceasefire.
Since March 16, the Japanese government has released in step 15 days' worth of oil from private reserves, 30 days' worth from national reserves and roughly six days' worth from oil producer countries' joint reserves. The country had 228 days' worth of oil reserves in total as of Tuesday, down 13 days' worth from the start of the release.

🏭 🇨🇳 🌏 Eric Yeung: I was speaking with one of my mainland China factory contacts today.
Apparently, a number of factories that relocated to Southeast Asia in recent years are now rapidly moving large parts of their production back to China. The main reason is that China has the energy capacity to keep factories running, whereas Southeast Asia is struggling with power shortages and skyrocketing energy costs.
This is happening especially among factories that maintained some production in China or still have good contacts there who can take on the manufacturing.
