The argument will be, "Well, they don't have control of this and control of that." If they don't have control of this and control of that, how do we even enter into an agreement?

🇺🇸🇮🇱⚔️🇮🇷📝: One minor point here I haven't seen anyone else raise: I'm not sure that a short ceasefire before a resumption of hostilities is to Iran's disadvantage.

The US/Israeli side made the opening move, and did so at time of their choosing. The Iranians will have plenty of recovering and regeneration to do, from digging out missile bases to moving assets around without the threat of air attack. More air defense interceptors aren't going to magically materialize in Israel within two weeks, either.

Another angle is the economic one. Further supply shocks are inevitable and will happen even if the war ends entirely today. Dragging out the conflict by another two weeks will allow some of them to land while costing the Iranians nothing. Markets are likely to react very negatively to the collapse of the ceasefire too.

In light of this it's plausible that this is a genuine capitulation by the US/Israeli side. What could they hope to get out of a fake two week ceasefire? It's not enough time to manufacture thousands of new JASSMs. The economic picture won't improve in two weeks.

💥🇮🇷 Iranian news agency, Mehr, reports a number of explosions hitting Siri Island in the Strait of Hormuz despite an ongoing ceasefire between Iran and the U.S.

Previously, other Iranian medias reported explosions on the island of Lavan to the northwest of Siri.

🛢📝: A two-week ceasefire that reopens the Strait of Hormuz will allow the oil tankers to exit the Persian Gulf and unload their cargo but the shortages will not end, they will be set back by two weeks.

A few tankers may come in and load more oil and help drain the storages in the GCC countries that are already full but production will not resume any time soon as the pumping stations and other infrastructure were damaged.

Fuel shortages are an inescapable reality. It will take years until pre-war oil extraction levels return.
