🇮🇷⚔️🇦🇪 Extensive damage to key energy infrastructure across the UAE.

Sentinel-2L satellite imagery from yesterday shows fires burning across at least three major oil and gas sites in the UAE Asab, Bu Hasa, and Habshan following reported Iranian strikes.

The Asab Central Degassing Station in Abu Dhabi has been burning for over a week after being hit by Iranian strikes.

The facility is a key part of the UAE’s oil production system, processing up to about 720,000 barrels per day by separating gas from crude and stabilizing it into Murban, the country’s main export grade.

At least two sites at the Habshan Gas Processing Facility have been burning for two days since the Iranian attack.

📝: Even if the Hormuz Strait was to reopen today, with so many refineries and oil wells damaged, prewar oil production levels are impossible and will take several months perhaps even 1-2 years or more until pre-3rd Gulf War oil extraction and refining is restored.

The damage to the global economy is already done. Ceasing hostilities will prevent more damage to the refineries and make their restoration happen quicker.
