Investigators found a Quran inside his car and was said to have worn "Islamic garb" when he attacked the bar. Law enforcement said he may have been motivated by the US' attack on Iran.

The Senegalese is believed to have first arrived in the US in the year 2000 and had a lengthy criminal record.
