🇺🇸 🇮🇱 🇧🇭 Israel's top general met earlier this week in Bahrain with his counterparts from several Arab militaries to discuss regional security cooperation, two sources with direct knowledge of the meeting told Axios.
🔶️ Gen. Herzi Halevi, the chief of the general staff of the Israeli military, participated alongside U.S. Gen. Michel "Erik" Kurilla (Top Chief of US Central Command).
🔶️ In addition to Kurilla and Halevi, senior generals from Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt attended Monday's meeting in Manama.
🔶️ The officials said the cooperation also included the active participation of Jordan and Saudi Arabia in intercepting missiles and drones that passed through their air space after being fired from Iran, Iraq and Yemen toward Israel.

- "After speaking to a military official with access to internal IDF maps of Hezbollah's unit structure, I made a few corrections to the map: The western 2 sectors (Coastal & Qana) are not under the command of the Nasr Unit, but are instead assigned to the Badr Unit which also controls the area north of the Litani."
- "The rest of the information has been confirmed as correct: Nasr Unit controls the central 2 sectors (Bint Jbeil & Najjar/Ramim Ridge), and Aziz controls the eastern-most sector (Khiam)."
- "I've slightly changed some of the sector boundaries based on what he told me."
In the map below:
Orange - Badr
Purple - Nasr
Yellow - Aziz
🔶️ "Please note that the battalions marked inside the sectors and divisions are still approximations. I expect that not all of them are directly on the Israeli border, but probably similar to Gaza have their weight further inside and are then given strips leading into the border areas. I will update the map as soon as more information becomes available."

🛢️🇳🇪 🇨🇳 Niger will soon become an oil exporter after the commissioning of the longest oil pipeline in the whole of Africa, reaching 🇧🇯 Benin's Port of Seme. 🔶️ The project has been realised with the support of China amid international sanctions against Niger…
🇨🇳 The attack was in Tibiry, 14km from Salkam. Attackers arrived on motorbikes, 6 confirmed dead. Niger's Gov't has shut down the Kulele Station. This could risk Niger defaulting on its debt to the Chinese company that funded the pipeline.

📡 🇺🇸 🛰 Pentagon embracing SpaceX’s Starshield for future military satcom
🔶️ DoD currently buys Starlink’s commercial internet service but in the future it also plans to acquire more than 100 ‘Starshield’ satellites that would be government-owned
🔶️ In a stark illustration of how rapidly the satellite communications landscape is shifting toward large constellations of smaller satellites in low-Earth orbit, the Defense Department plans to add more than 100 of SpaceX’s Starshield satellites to its future satcom architecture.
🔶️ Starshield is a militarized version of SpaceX’s Starlink internet satellites, with enhanced encryption and other security features. And unlike Starlink, which is a commercial service, the Starshield satellites would be owned and controlled by the U.S. government.

🔦 🇺🇸 📡 DARPA's military-grade 'quantum laser' will use entangled photons to outshine conventional laser beams
🔶️ The technology can also play a role in quantum computing and telecommunications, the researchers said, possibly leading to faster and more secure ways of transmitting data.
🔶️ This binding of light particles increases the energy and stability of the laser, making it better at performing over long distances and in adverse conditions like extreme temperatures and fog.
🔶️ "We are trying to exploit the property of entanglement to do something innovative. The entanglement can do many things that we can only dream of — this is just the tip of the iceberg," Shen said.
🔶️ The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded a $1 million grant to scientists building a prototype "quantum photonic-dimer laser" that uses quantum entanglement to "glue" light particles together and generate a highly concentrated laser beam.
📝 Anon: They're developing this for better comm systems.

🍌 🇺🇸 🇨🇴 Banana Wars
🔶️ Banana giant Chiquita Brands must pay $38.3 million to 16 family members of people killed during Colombia’s long civil war by a violent right-wing paramilitary group funded by the company, a federal jury in Florida decided.
🔶️ The verdict Monday by a jury in West Palm Beach marks the first time the company has been found liable in any of multiple similar lawsuits pending elsewhere in U.S. courts, lawyers for the plaintiffs said. It also marks a rare finding that blames a private U.S. company for human rights abuses in other countries.
